Chris Brown - Deuces
Artist: Chris Brown
Featuring: Tyga , Kevin McCall
Producer: KMack and Jahlil
Album: Fan of a Fan Mixtape
Label: RCA
Whether it was because of a media conspiracy, as he alleges, because the album wasn’t very good, or a little bit of both, the numbers say that Chris Brown’s Graffiti was a relative flop for Breezy. Attempting to recover his previous spot at the top of the game, Brown is looking to get a boost by teaming up with Cash Money young stunna Tyga for a collabo mixalbum, Fan of a Fan. While Brown both rhymes and raps on Fan, on standout track Deuces, he leaves the mic work to Tyga and newcomer Kevin McCall, instead concentrating, and succeeding, on dropping a typically smooth vocal performance over a simple but effective beat from KMack and Jahlil. So how about it Booth nation? Can we call it a comeback (after all, he’s been here for years), or is Brown still a long way from regaining his former glory? Those who answered yes to the first question have undoubtedly already downloaded Ill Will & DJ Rockstar Present: Chris Brown & Tyga Fan of a Fan, available now.

After a quick breeze (pun intended) through their "Fan of a Fan" mixtape this morning, I came to two conclusions. One, I am not a fan of Chris Brown rapping. It sounds like he is trying too hard (as opposed to his singing, which is natural and comes across as such). Two, Tyga must really be considered an up-n-coming elite emcee for Brown and his people to co-sign an entire project with the young west coaster. Who knew? I'd be lying if I said me.
The catchy aspect of this record is the production, which is simplistic enough for the artists to shine, but resonates in your head for minutes after you're done listening. If you like "Deuces," I have a feeling you'll enjoy the project as a whole. I might be in the minority, but I find this likable enough to roll out a 4-bagger rating. |

I copped this earlier in the day and boy an amazing duo go download right away. There are songs that should be distinct singles. Tyga comes a long way from coconut juice and brings shows me why cash money signed him. Tyga goes hard and theres some songs on there for the ladies. As for 'deuces' this is in my top 3 songs off the mixtape which was tagless for the fans. Good to see chris keepin his head up with the last 2 mixtapes I'm sure he will hopefully be changed for good.

The beat is worthy of an album nod, but it's a little slow and boring throughout. Tyga gives it a small push of energy, but Chris was in the shadow with this one. Opposed to Z, I liked the rapping style of Chris, especially on his 'Holla At Me,' he needs to try something different after that alum flop.

Awesome track, simple production but Chris Brown and Tyga both flow smooth over the beat. Not to be forgotten, Kevin McCall had a pretty good verse himself. The mixtape as a whole is a new direction for both artists really, but personally I think it was a great idea and great success.

This song's pretty good. I'm not a fan of Chris Brown, but I might be after hearing this mixtape. Chris Brown's vocals are super smooth on this track. Tyga could be as big as Drake if this mixtape gets popular. Tyga was really doing his thing on this mixtape. Kevin McCall is pretty good, too. The beat is simple, but is good enough.

This is BY FAR the best song on the tape. The tape could seriously have been a decent album. These two are just great together, as long as chris is singing that is.

This was a great record for Chris Brown! Might be Rihanna motivated? But still its definitely a comeback record...Tyga ripped it and Kevin was cool. The mixtape was tough too.

This might grow on me. Not really impressed with any part of this song. Two big time artists, but not a whole lot of likable material on this one.

This wasn't the best song on their tape together. It definitely showcased both of their incredible talents as artists, but it definitely was not the best on the tape. "G-Sh!t, "Number One" & "Holla @ Me" were some of the sickest songs, to name a few.
I was really digging the production on this. I agree that as long as Chris sings and Tyga raps, these two have a bright future as duo. Production instantly had me hooked and Chris' opening sung verse was great as well. Tyga should receive most of the acclaim for this track; his verses were straight fire. All together, though, there are alot of bangers and CLASSICS on their project, which should be more than an enough of an incentive for anyone to go check it out. Fan of a Fan = one of the best mixtapes as of thus far. |

Wow I really like the production on this song.
The singing by Chris added that extra color. Tyga gave the song the upbeat feel as usual. Overall good track. |

One of the best songs on the mixtape..and you said "Brown is looking to get a boost by teaming up with Cash Money young stunna Tyga." He been made it back with In My Zone. And Tyga is underrated fa real, He killed it! But if anybody thinks CB is garbage at rap listen to 48 Bar..that is all

Def a cool song, Chris Brown still has it and Tyga is not bad either. The beat sounds like a slowed down version of Rihanna's "Te Amo" from her new album. Hmm.

Chris Brown was average on this hit verses had shallow content nothing notable, Tyga went Hard and Raw loved his verse far deeper content feeling his condemning love.

I like the "Grown Man" Chris Brown better than the Kiddo Chrissy. He came correct on this track. Tyga was HOTT on this one though. I'ma go download the Mixtape NOW.

This isn't the record that's gonna win back women who used to love Chris Brown. Not really a good look for him. He should go back to making uptempo club anthems.

This was definately the best track on a reasonably solid mixtape. Chris sounded good & Tyga was solid througout the whole mixtape.
I actually thought Chris's rapping was actually pretty good on the mixtape, though I agree that he is a much better singer |

Breezy drops the Lil Wayne act and slips comfortably back into his smooth crooner mode on “Deuces,” a new track from his mixtape with Young Money rapper Tyga, Fan of a Fan.
In the track, produced by and also featuring Kevin McCall, Breezy and Tyga give their shiesty chicks the kiss off — more accurately they “chunk the deuces” to them as they go off to find new “Paula Patton thick” girls to appreciate them. As damning as some of the lyrics are, this emotional jam is actually a step in the right direction for Brown, who shows off his smooth vocals. We wish the song picked up a bit more in the end, but if it’s between this and Chris trying to come off as a bad-ass rapper, we much prefer this. What do you think? Do you like Chris all downbeat, or do you wish he’d pick up the pace and released another fun-loving “Forever”? |

I know a lot of people are expecting me to hate on this, but I've got absolutely nothing against it. Brown should stay away from the rapping, and he does so here to dope effect. If he can stay humble and keep cranking out music like this, he'll find himself back on top eventually.
@Z - The dual project is a sign of how high Tyga is rising, and how far Brown's fallen. The two are pretty much equal right now, and hopefully they'll continue to rise together. |

Considering the talent on the track, I wasn't convinced that they put everything they hd into it. I feel Tyga held back a little for Brown so he could shine a little more.

Song is hot, CBreezy spits some propane all on this mixtape, I even think I would stretch n say C Breezy plays assasin n kills it. Im respectin the singer n spitter in lil CB, maybe he needs 2 ride the Trigga Trey train and drop mixtapes for the streets n pop tart sugar for the radio.

I will be glad when everyone gets past his personal life and concentrate solely on the music. There are very few albums you can play from beginning to end and not have to skip a song, Fan of a Fan is one of those albums. Every song is not great, but even the songs that are not great are easy to listen to. Deuces is one of those songs that if you here it three or more times it will become one of your favorite songs.
Brezzy might not be one of the best rappers out, but he is better than alot of them, example: Soldier Boy, Hot Boyz and a lot of others I can't even remember there names. I will admit that he is a much better singer than rapper, and no one right now can touch him singing. You can only hold true talent back for so long, he will rise again. |
