On Twista‘s previous album, Adrenaline Rush 2007, the emcee attempted to recapture the magic of his classic ‘97 set, but it looks like his upcoming eighth album, Category F5 (the most devastating kind of tornado, or “twister”) could be even more of a treat for old-school fans, partially because of his newfound independent status. Hearkening back to the Chicago native’s breakout hit, which showcased his ability to Get It Wet, Wetter finds Twista demonstrating all the smooth moves he’s learned in the time since. Though female hook singer, Erika Shevon, adds to the ambience, what should really get the hardcore fans’ attention is that, for the first time since Mariah Carey‘s ‘05 One And Only, The Legendary Trakster is once again behind the boards while Twista is on the mic. Wetter is a strong early candidate for Chi-Town’s ‘09 hip-hop anthem, and fans can expect plenty more heat for the Midwest streets when Category F5 is released this spring.

 Its a pretty good song. Its a bit slow even for a twister song. I like how they bring in the other part of the song slowly building over time... I wish we had halves, because i feel this would be a 3.5

I just heard this literally minutes before it showed up here on the booth. I thought the vibe and production was real smooth. It wasn't the greatest joint in the world and I can't call it a classic like "Get It Wet" just yet... but the production and hook was superb flameness. Uber Illy. I think this will grow on me. Twista is making a comeback baby!

That girl sounds so sexy on the hook of this. I honestly listened to this song about 5 times yesterday. I for some reason really dig it. Beat is smooth. Hook is good. Twista is one of my favorites when his production fits him. This is exactly what he needs right now. No more trina recreate Slow Jams, this is new, fresh and still reminiscent of his old po pimpin days. Classic Twista shit!
