First off, let’s clear up any confusion that may result from the title of Twista’s new single. No, it’s not that Make a Movie, or that Make a Movie, or even this Movie. Got it? Despite its not-so-original name, the song itself is as distinctly Twista as ever as the lightning-tongued Chicago emcee recruits frequent production collaborator Traxster for a softly winding beat that juxtaposes perfectly with his quick, though slow by his standards, rhymes about, you guessed it, making a sex tape. (Someone call Montana Fishburne.) While an earlier version of Movie featured T-Pain on the hook, the final version finds Chris Brown lending vocal support with a burning chorus that ends with Brown sobbing uncontrollably. All jokes aside, while Make a Movie doesn’t sound like a mega-hit to me, with Twista’s catchy rhymes, Traxster’s slow jam beat and Brown’s hyperventilation-inducing presence, it may be just the thing to build some serious hype around the release of Twista’s upcoming album The Perfect Storm (no, not that The Perfect Storm), touching down sometime this fall.

Yeah, I'm on the fence about this record. Its nice. Its fun. Its listenable. But I don't love it. And I certainly don't think its a charting smash. Too predictable. But hey, I hope for the best when it come to Twista and my hometown friends.

Twista ripped it just like I expected. I like it when he slows it down. Chris Brown sounded alright, but the chorus was weak. 3.5 |

As I wrote in the intro, this isn't anything original, but it's still pretty nice and enjoyable. Twista's made to flow over beats like this, and I have no problem with Brown's vocals, they're exactly what the cut called for. Nice.

man this song is pretty good.....i been listening to twista and he ain't really changed his style up much...which is probably a good thing....but for some reason chris brown just sounded like a lil kid on this song...he sounded good don't get me wrong but not like a man...(like a little boy) i don't know if that's gonna be enough to make this song a hit

Twista has been the same artist for the past 100 Years (LOL)! But I dont think I want him to change anyway. He delivers nicely on here. Chris Brown sounds very young on this track, but it sounds good. This would go HARD in the club, but I'll throw it in rotation in the headphones. Cool track!

A hot hot record! Young MJ delivered a great chorus, the beat was banging it really brought back an old school vibe with the sampling of Nelly's 'Dilemma'
Twista's always been a hit and miss for me...hit; "Slow Jamz", "Overnight Celebrity" and miss "Give It Up" "Wetter"...but this right here is definitely part of the former. Should give Twista another smash and CB a boost to reclaim the R&B throne! |

I like this jam. Nice beat, nice rapping, nice chorus. A little reminiscent of "yellow light." A different look for CB that sounds believable. Maybe this will help him reclaim his spot with the younger R&B crowd.
