TRUTHLiVE - Coors Light and Ski Boats
Artist: TRUTHLiVE
Producer: Various
Album: Patience
Label: Interdependent Media
The 157th entry in our DJBooth.net Freestyle Series comes courtesy of TRUTHLiVE, the Bay Area native who recently hooked up with DJBooth to drop his The UnLearning EP. On his brand new, exclusive Coors Light and Ski Boats freestyle, the Interdependent Media emcee flows over industry instrumentals originally featured on The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony, Washed Out’s Feel It All Around and Waajeed’s Anything. TRUTHLiVE is currently preparing for the 4/20 release of his latest full-length, the Jake One-produced Patience.
Readers can download a copy of the newly-released In the Booth (Volume 4), featuring exclusive freestyles 91 through 120, here! Volumes one, two and three are available for download here, here and here.
The DJBooth.net Freestyle Series will be on hiatus following tonight’s entry. Watch for us to resume with #158 sometime in the next several weeks.

Love the jackin for beats style. I was a fan at first - when I didnt know we would get a second beat (or third for that matter) - but the last two flows sold me. Big fan. Big big fan.

Still detoxing from last week's Vegas trip, so even the mention of Coors Light still makes me a little sick, but with rhymes this solid I sobered up quick. You gotta be a strong emcee to carry the track through multiple beats, and Truth has that strength. Well done sir.

I have to be honest here, the song starts off just terribly. The Bittersweet Symphony had its time when The Verve did it, Jay tried to spit over it and I thought even then it wasn't very good on Jay's part. The second and third beat showed Truths real talent more so in my opinion. Had he extended the two beats, or started with something else, the song would shine light on him a little more. Still, I'd love to hear more from him.
