Troy Ave - Chillin’
Artist: Troy Ave
Featuring: Mac Miller
Producer: Cy Fyre
Album: White Christmas
Label: Unsigned
I recently relocated from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Brooklyn and, while I’m enjoying my new environs, I’ll keep it real: the holidays just don’t feel the same without blankets of snow, single-digit temperatures and skin-flaying winds. Fortunately, Troy Ave is here to make Yuletide a little icier with Chillin, a new single off his seasonally-themed mixtape with DJ Holiday. Produced by Cy Fyre, who flips the gorgeous intro from Bay Area soul singer Darondo’s Didn’t I, this joint see the NYC native linking up with indie phenom Mac Miller to engage in a few of their mutual favorite activities—namely, riding, chiefing and kicking it with beautiful women. White Christmas has yet to receive a release date, but will presumably drop somewhere in the vicinity of the 25th. Mac Miller fans will be able to catch the Pittsburgh native and G.O.O.D. Music hitmaker 2 Chainz opening for Weezy on the YMCMB general’s upcoming European arena tour.

For a mixtape throwaway record, I dig this. The vibe/mood of the record isn't really all that "chillin," but its good spirited nature should get even the coldest of motherf**kers in the holiday mindset.
