Last year’s Amazin’ LP may have found Trina branching out from her gritty (and raunchy) usual to pursue more club/pop-oriented sounds, but don’t get it twisted – she still has both feet firmly on the asphalt. On the latest single off her forthcoming EP, the veteran femcee takes the opportunity to reaffirm her hood credentials, in the process schooling listeners on the everyday sights and sounds of the Ghetto. Backed by J Rock‘s minimal piano stabs and handclap-driven percussion, the Miami mainstay describes the inner-city streets in loving detail, from the liquor stores and tricked-out rides right down to the Timberland boots and fake nails. She even channels a little Jeff Foxworthy, telling fellas that “If you make your money easy and your swag is off the heezy and your favorite rapper Jeezy,” then you might be “motherf*cking ghetto.” Autotune maven T-Pain handles hook duties, encouraging all who are “country, hood, ratchet… opposite of bougie” to put their hands in the air. Craving more new material from the Baddest B*tch in the game? Seek and you shall find on Trina’s Diamonds Are Forever EP, due out March 28.

Eh. We've heard better from both Trina and Teddy. Not sure this will make an impact, but I have been wrong before.

The beginning of this song had me hopeful, but the short, somewhat choppy flow of Trina never evolved into the more mature and and advanced flow I was envisioning at the beginning. That being said, a decent hook from T-Pain and on the point lyrics from both artists still made this song enjoyable. PRobably give it a listen every now and then.

Got pretty much what i expected. Actually i have to confess, a little more than i expected. Solid production from J Rock and a strong T-Pain chorus, really help elevate the rhymes of Trina. Nice effort all around.

T-Pain was the only thing worth listening too, everything else just had nothing of my attention (cringes)

It was just the other day I was asking myself what Trina was up to these days and now here she is. This track is fun and entertaining but its not a stand out performance from either two. It seems like the usual contribution teddy would put out on a hook, and Trina was pretty average.
