If you’ve had your browser locked to the Booth, you know that, in addition to his usual R&B sh*t, the Trey Songz has also been on some “other sh*t”—more specifically, rap sh*t. Fresh off showcasing those respective sh*ts on two separate mixtapes (Anticipation 2 and #LemmeHolDatBeat 2, both released today), Trigga delivers some combination-type sh*t (OK, I’m done saying “sh*t,” I promise) on the lead single off his next studio album, mixing the heavy swag and paper-stacking subject matter of his hip-hop material with his characteristically smooth vocal style. What I Be On, Phenom and Troy Taylor‘s mechanical, synth-accented strut sets the stage for braggadocious verses from the heavyweight crooner. After Songz is done soulfully flaunting his bulging bankroll and his female appeal, East Coast mainstay Fabolous grabs the mic to do a little caked-up stunting of his own. I prefer the Trey Songz who can make (timeless?) upscale, adult R&B music. However, I understand (and can more than appreciate) why songs like "What I Be On" are created. I am just not a huge fan, outside of the club.

I prefer the R&B Trey over this, but it could be a grower.
BTW, I think you mean Chapter 5, not Section 5. |

Trey could have went a bit harder on this. Production is decent, but could also be better. Fab was OK. I'll throw it in rotation but I was expecting more.
