Trey Songz’ declaration that he invented sex ranks right up there with Al Gore’s claim that he invented the internet in the “Um, You Definitely Didn’t Invent That” pantheon, but that didn’t stop Songz from making a damn good slow jam about his absurd claim, or from inviting Usher and Keri Hilson to join him on the remix. I Invented Sex (Remix), also known as I Re-Invented Sex, keeps the original’s Los da Mystro’s synth-soaked production intact but adds new verses from Songz (peep his psychic Tiger Woods reference, which he almost definitely recorded before the scandal broke), Usher, who basically invented the modern sexual r&b blueprint that Songz is following, and Hilson, who more than holds her own alongside the boys with some scintillating vocals and hilarious “soldier at attention” sexual entendres. These three may not have invented sex, but they sure make listening to music while having sex more enjoyable. This is the official remix to the current single, which fans can find on Songz’ DJBooth-approved album Ready, available now.

Usher sounds great here - he needs to pick a single that sounds more like this for himself.
Keri sounds great here - she can hold her own against just about anyone (except B and Alicia). Trey sounds... the same as always. He doesn't invent the wheel, he just knows how to drive with it.

I agree, this is a dope remix, however I will only rate it a 4 becuase frankly, I still think the original is superior. They did well in their attempt to "re-invent" sex though, lol.

-> I couldn't agree more, he needs a hot track with this kind of sound to relaunch. This remix is a huge improvement over the original, the hotness definitely jumped up a few notches. Tracks like this always sound better when there are some female verses to play off of. In this case, getting a hot commodity like Keri Hilson worked perfectly. I still would've liked to hear the beat improved a bit. It was a bit on the generic side, a better beat for the remix would've really stepped it up. |

Usher was good , sounds like he was really having fun singing. As much as I love Ms. Keri baby, she could have ripped a little harder vocally, but its all good. Though neither manage to top Trey Songz's swaggerific sexualized vocals/lyrics. Overall, a nice alternative to Original, both are equally good for me.

Everyone sounded good on here. Great remix and I liked the change up of some of the lyrics ("Which two of yall" and "You gon think I re-invented sex"). I think a NEW verse from Drake would have been tight on the back-end but it's cool. This is a sick remix.

I'm so glad to hear Usher killing stuff again, this is just crack to my ears. I also loved that hook he did for Gucci on "spotlight" so I hope for really good things in the future for him.
Keri Hilson is quickly becoming one of my favorite female's right now, she has a perfect sound to compliment any track (or hold her own). Trey still sounds good, I don't even gotta go into how much I love him, he's got it. This whole song is just smoooth and sexy and a wonderful remix. |

I've been jam'n the original hot version but this is fire! Trey delivers this sexy remix with the addition of Mr. Seductive (Usher). Keri representing for the ladies to let the men know that women put it down too. This song is absolutely in rotation.
