As Alicia Keys, Lyfe Jennings, and Cassidy can tell you, the most opportune time for an artist to switch up his or her style is before their junior album. Following in their footsteps is singer Trey Songz, who has likewise gone through a recent image renovation that includes the shaving off of his signature cornrows (his new look is not pictured to your left, but will be seen in a photo/video shoot later this week) for his upcoming third album, Ready. When it comes to his musical style, however, Trey knows better than to fix what isn’t broken; on the first official single, he gives away his number (stop the Mike Jones comparisons) in hopes a lady will put it In Ya Phone. Providing the production are Troy Taylor and E. Miles’, whose work sounds like a combination of Jermaine Dupri and DJ Toomp. In a nutshell, Trey Songz once again hits the bullseye with In Ya Phone; a fact which will soon enough be reflected on the charts.

Trey has really emerged as a leader of the R&B industry. I wasnt a big fan of his early work, but this has officially converted me. This is a playful, fun track with energy and great vocal quality. The beat has be bouncin a lil bit in my chair, and I love when anything besdies hip hop can give me that feeling. Solid track, waitin for more outta Trey.

This one will have to grow on me. I can sense a remix with Jeezy and Joc commin. That damn signature yodel is terrible trey. I prefer Jada's AHHAAAA! Over that sound patna.

To comment of Trey's early work...it was genius. He's since then sort of blended in with the rest of the R&B artists as far as sound and content. He's still my favorite male R&B artist never the less...though this isn't topping "Gotta Make It". This song sounds pretty good, but also pretty cliche. I hope to hear some unique joints from Trey on this new "Ready" album. I was just listening to the "Missing You Remix" featuring Drake earlier today. Now that's a hot track. I'll throw this in rotation and I hope that Trey comes with a hotter single and that he doesn't let his long term fans down. I also hope Drake (from the T.DOT!) makes an official appearance on this album. Oh, BTW, to comment on the engineering on this track, the vocals don't seemed to be mixed well and I can hear static at some points. But overall, it's a solid average track from the prince of the V.A.

This has good production right here. The chorus is decent, doesn't really sound that hot. I like most of Trey Songs tracks a lot more than this...even his features usually have more substance. I think radio stations will love it; so it can go in rotation I guess.

when i first heard this song in i think July? it was just a snippet. It was just the first verse, and i thought the song was HOT and 2 weeks later, i hear the rest and i was highly upset because it didnt live up to the beginning. but i had to get used to it. and i did.

This is a banger. Trey is definitely goin for radio play with this one. But isnt that what singles are for anyway? I been a Songz fan since Gotta Make It, he is the best R&B dude out here in my opionion. He jus aint promoted right. Hopefully that will change with this album. I've heard other songz that maybe on the album and he is singin his ass off.

Trey has been helping everyone else out in the industry, so it's about time he re-focused on helping himself. Without a doubt, Trey is one of the most promising up-in-comers the R&B world has the offer. This isn't a logical step forward in his work's maturity, but its rock solid catchy.

Thatdudean u crazy...he is incredibly hot, with or without long hair! ;) Anyway the song is good, catchy and cheerful, but seeing the high ratings I expected better. He sings well as always, but he has done better! To me his best collabo ever is that with the German rapper Raptile, in the song Missin' Ur Kisses...wonderful! This is in rotation

This is a nice radio-friendly pop/R&B offering from Trey who has come along way in recent years. This sounds like a bit of a sing-along. This reminds me of the new Jessie McCartney "Leavin", odd but it has that same vibe and feel. Nice Song though
