With his oft-delayed sophomore album, Trey Day, now set for release on October 2nd, Trey Songz offers up his second single, the ironically-titled Can’t Help But Wait. To get a buzz going for the new song, Trey hooked up with Grammy-winning songwriter Johnta Austin (Mariah’s We Belong Together, Mary‘s Be Without You), and Norwegian production team Stargate (Ne-yo‘s So Sick and Sexy Love, Beyonce‘s Irreplaceable). In Can’t Help But Wait Trey sings about having his eye on a girl whose man isn’t treating her right; he is just waiting for her to leave so that he can treat her better. This single shows incredible talent and ability on all fronts; let’s see if it will get the bigwigs at Atlantic to keep the current release date.
