After a huge year, R&B’s new posterboy Trey Songz is back with the single off his upcoming album Passion, Pain & Pleasure. Utilizing the abilities of Banger University graduate Kane Beatz, Mr. Steal Your Girl creates a new anthem for all the pretty girls in your local hot spot. You would think after a smash like Say Aah that Trey would leave the Nuvo and Patron alone for a minute but hey, if it’s not broke don’t fix it. Kane’s production is way different than Songz’s smash single anyway; Bottoms Up has a more immediate, hard feel to it and even in front of a myriad of signature ad libs, Trey’s vocals are still on point. Oh, and as for Nicki Minaj’s guest verse? The Harajuku Barbie plays Jekyll and Hyde as she seamlessly switches from a hyper crunchy flow to a creamier than peanut butter whisper throughout her entire feature. Displaying not only her innate ability to rhyme, but a dope singing voice to match, Nicki’s appearance here is a highlight. Trey Songz’s Passion, Pain & Pleasure album is out on Sept. 14… now I can drink to that.

In the past, whenever i see a song featuring Nicki Minaj, i NEVER knew what i was going to get...and i enjoyed the suspense!!! But now i'm getting a little bored with the insane Nicki Minaj....extremely bored. The chorus was the highlight of the song and the production was decent. Rotation

this sounds more like a "mixtape trigga" sound than his now signature album sound. its alright though as long as this is the only hard/club song. nickis verse is very unusual not necacarily in a bad way though. i would like a definite "love song" type album for passion pain and pleasure cause thats where trey's great vocals excell

Nicki Minaj brought it up 1 star for me. She was good.
Pot the new R.Kelly sngle Tongues that features Ludacris. It is really sonds like an alternative to this. Ludacris did better than Minaj, Trey did better than Mr Urine in Trouble |

For me, the best part of this record is the insane production from Kane. Trey's vocals are typical, nothing special, and Nikki is boring to me here (she comes off that way from time to time).

I actually like Nicki on here. Her contrasting style went smoothly. Trey was typical. @SetGecko you need to take a couple more listens to Tongues. R. Kells doesn't disappoint and the word play is slick

So we can all agree that this is a Say Ahh remix and Songz is relatively forgettable. Moving on.
Are you out of your mind Z? As I've written before, Nicki's flows have gotten "crazy" in the exact same way every track, but this....this is some next level. I can't figure out if her verse is atrocious or secretly great, but as soon as I heard it I rewound it under the "wait, what the f did she just say" principle, and then I listened to it about five more times in a row. It may be a car accident flow (you don't want to look...but you end up staring), but there aren't many emcees who could get me to listen to their verse that many times in a row. Nicki deserves some credit for that at least. We've obviously hit that over-saturation point with Nicki where people are going to automatically hate anything she does as a form of protest, and I can't blame em, but this feels like something different.

I guess Trey wanted to create another Say Ahh. This feels like its a mixtape record and not meant for an album. I don't know what's wrong with the song, it's just forgettable and boring. Well actually it's only boring untill Nicki steps in.
I'm not a fan but even I can't lie, she kills this record. From her energy to her weird voice, I loved everything about it. Still a dissapointment for Trey but hopefully this won't make the album. Also if you look at everyone's comments, mostly people are talking about Nicki's verse. Which proves her verse was a scene stealer. |

say ahh was the better club hit, this track right here doesn't do it for me at all. trey songz always had talent to me, and i will admit that of all his albums, 'ready' has the most play on my ipod. however, his ego from the success of 'ready' seems to have affected his ability (at least with this track) to deliver ART worth listening to. as for nicki, yes her flow brought some excitement to this lackluster song, but she added to my listening displeasure. she wasn't saying shxt. reciting alcohol names, repeating the same line 3 times, and *yawns* wasn't feeling this at all. |

Nicki had me laughing at her mentally unstable verse. Uniqueness and funny. Dope beat fits the dope melodies in the hook and pre-chorus. Would get some club play. |
