Since Trae the Truth did a feature on Wiz Khalifa’s Cabin Fever mixtape (the banging Phone Numbers), it was only fair for Wiz to return the favor on Trae’s new song Gettin Paid. Produced by VDon, who has also worked with such acts as Smoke DZA and Vado, the song starts out clustered with a lot going on at once, all shadowed by a long and loud piano note that is borderline creepy. However, Paid seems to instantly come together when Trae starts spitting his low toned, fast paced style. With the slower instrumental, Trae is able to change is flow multiple times and really ride well with the beat, reminding me of some early No Limit. Wiz, however is a different story. While his loyal fans may disagree, for me Wiz’s bars aren’t horrible, but he just doesn’t seem to fit the song well and his flow sounds a little off. Overall though, this is a solid record, and a good indication of what Trae’s new DJ Whoo Kid mixtape will bump like when it finally drops, whenever that proves to be.

Clearly, we have a situation where Wiz is returning the favor for Trae's appearance on his latest mixtape. Sadly, it sounds like Wiz sorta mailed in his contribution. Kinda disappointing.

Hook was not cuttin it for me but I do enjoy Trae, his flow/voice/lyricism. Sadly, I am becoming used to sub-par verses from Wiz and his last few booth debuts. Heee-heee-heee-heee-heeee Now trae and cut that ish. And there was just something about the hook on this production... it just didn't match up. Trae's verse made it 3 star for me

I've got a thing for Trae Tha Truth. It's unexplainable, but he's just that dude. no homo.

Wiz was weaker than usual but I'll still let this bang through Chapel Hill.

This song is heavy and I don't know what. They both went super in.

Mediocre song; Wiz doesn't seem to be making an effort. Beat's a bit boring; Trae's unique voice and constantly changing flow is the only thing that keeps me listening, but even after that it gets a tad boring. Trae's lyrics and flow are dope and on point though. They're the reason this rating is two stars higher than it should be.

Sounds like a "just cause we can rap" type of track. Really lazy and serves no real purpose.

I won't front, I was fully prepared to not like this - but I just can't help myself. That beat's absolutely hypnotizing and Trae's vocals are so dope. I'd agree that Wiz doesn't really do much here, but I understand that having Khalifa on your song guarantees a lot of exposure.

This song is okay. Good to see Trae Tha Truth back doing his thing but I don't see this one getting to far on radio.
