Singer TQ has come a long way since his ’98 solo debut, They Never Saw Me Coming. Over the past ten years, the Compton-native has written, produced and collaborated with A-list names such as R. Kelly, Jagged Edge, and even Whitney Houston. While his contributions to others work has helped him gain much respect amongst his industry peers, TQ looks to once again gain the admiration of his fans. On April 1, he will release his new album, Paradise: Live In It or Die In It, which is flanked by the new Krayzie Bone collaboration, the aptly-titled Paradise. Produced by veteran writer/producer, Static Major, Paradise is TQ’s tale from nothing to something. His name may be off the radar, but it’s clear his travels have led him to bliss.
Never heard of TQ but I like this track. He has a smooth R&B voice. The production is magnificent. The hook is catchy. Krayzie Bone does what a featured artist is supposed to do: ENHANCE the song! I should be hearing this track on the airwaves very soon. I will mark April 1 on my calendar.
I like the production and the song in general is pretty good, I wish I coulda give it a 3.5. It coulda been a 4 but I just don't like how TQ sounds. Kinda sounds like he's singing through his nose or something. Gotta be a lil smoother than that. Still worth about a 3.
After listening to the first verse, I wasn't all that impressed as the hook is what brings this record from good to great. The track gradually builds up verse after verse until Krayzie Bone delivers a nice ending touch. You can never go wrong with the Bone-Thugs feature verse, straight g's (loved the Crossroads reference). I haven't heard of TQ before either but by the sounds of this song a comeback is coming soon.
terrance quaites has been banging out tunes since 1997 came onto the scene in the uk in 1999 wish a smash hit westside this is his 5th album also has been in a handful of films and he actualy wrote every word of they never saw me coming which was produced by mike mosely
I wish Krayzie would have spit a few more lines, but there isn't much to complain about here. This song is bangin, and I have a feeling that DJBooth won't be the only place I hear this song!
HOT!! Beat is smooth, great hook - haven't heard one like this in a while I've been flanked with T-pain hooks. Real nice voice, the dude killed it in my opinion. Krayzie killed it too but didn't outshine TQ but rather complimented him. BANGER
Something about this track is so amateurish. I don't know what it is. The lyrics aren't put together that well. The flow isn't continuous at all. It's all over the place from a composition perspective. I'm not really feeling this and I wouldn't listen to it again, so it can't go into rotation. Krayzie is even way better than this...
i think the amateurish part to this track is the lyrics..the beat is hot but the flow sounds like a yound 98 degrees or something.. micky mouse club shit..rating for beat only
DJ Blaze, I agree with your critique of the music, its not solid at all. The chorus is probaly the only thing on point in the track; however I will disagree about not including in a set. I find when I include songs like these in my sets, it gets the "lazy" crowd more involved, it just has that happy-go-lucky feel. This is one of those I would put in the middle of the set to keep the crowd involved and the bar making money.
Rico Sean u off yo Brain. Dis is weak i only listened all the way through it bcuz i wanted 2 hear Bone. Cash Money would have stepped his game up
GARBAGIO/Dj TUC------Dueces
The beat is for sure the best part of the song. The lyrics arent the best but the song has a good feel to it. I think the beat is mixtape ready though. 3.5
Chorus, Krayzie, and the beat make the track. The singing skills aren't near as good, but they're tolerable. This is a radio track for sure. And how about the mention to The Crossraods by Krayzie, definitely a nice touch.
Hopefully TQ makes a comeback! i have all his other albums, who remembers "Westside"? TQ's only problem has been that he hasnt made any relevant music and has always been with the wrong labels! He could be huge hit if he had the right producers on board like Polow Da don or any of the big hitmakers at the moment! He needs to make less gangsta r&b that he had been doing as it hasnt been working the last few years! if anyone doubts his singing abilities listen to TQ- Adore, a cover of the prince song, u will be impressed!
One for the beat. One for the lyrics. One for the first half. The last half lost the soulfoul energy. I felt like he couldn't carry through. I would have taken it back and reworked it somemore before releasing it. Some of the vocals were off at the end.
