Tony Williams - Blazin High
Artist: Tony Williams
Featuring: Wale , Emilio Rojas , Macklemore x Ryan Lewis
Producer: Oddz.N.Endz
Album: Some of My Best Rappers Are Friends
Label: G.O.O.D. Music
As the project’s title suggests, forthcoming mixtape Some of My Best Rappers Are Friends finds Tony Williams doing his thing alongside all the most talented homies in his Rolodex. (Or they would be in his Rolodex, if he were a time traveler from the 1970s.) Fresh off calling out a beautiful woman who played him, Chip Tha Ripper and Fonzworth Bentley on last week’s Marsha Braidy, the G.O.O.D. Music crooner returns to get Blazin High with three more of his illustrious colleagues on the follow-up single. Over Oddz.N.Endz’ scorching synth boardwork, Maybach heavyweight Wale, NYC-repping Booth fave Emilio Rojas and Seattle buzzmaker Macklemore rhapsodize about the simple pleasures of getting f*cked up with fly honeys. Williams takes center stage for the blistering, four-on-the-floor hook, inviting the object of his affection to forget her cares and accompany him on a blunted journey into the unknown: “Now that we’re free, let’s begone…” Digging it? More catchy melodies and fresh guest features await on the headliner’s YouHeardThatNew/Cloudkicker Clothing-presented tape, dropping next Friday (the 13th). Also, watch for Williams’ next studio album, King or the Fool, to arrive on store shelves Feb. 14 (a.k.a. Valentine’s Day).

I didn't see this collaborative effort coming (glad its upon us, though). I knew that Tony was friends with a lot of rappers (before he revealed that as the title to his new project), but what a diverse line-up!? I don't remember the last time I heard a DMV/NY/Seattle collabo - do you? Hip hop spans the country and this is proof of its wide-ranging impact.

Man this joint is so dope. Of coursed I'm biased bc I helped put it together and mixed the joint, but shit, this record is kinda huge. We took all four artists out of their respective comfort zones and, like Z said, put together a collab like nothing seen before.
I'm glad it worked as well as it did! Huge shout to Richard, Z, Nathan and the whole crew for your support. PS If you guys think this is crazy, wait til you see/hear who else we got on the tape!!! #KoTF |

This is sick right here! This beat is smooth and makes you bounce. Wale opens up the track nicely and the ride keeps going strong from there. The Chorus is tight and Emilio NEVER disappoints. I'll be rockin this for some time to come. Great effort.

Never expected to see two of my favorite rappers in Macklemore and Emilio on the same track, add Wale and Tony Williams and you've got yourself a pretty damn good record
