Just who is 9th Wonder‘s mysterious protégé? After a thorough investigation of Booth newcomer Tom Hardy‘s MySpace and Twitter pages, I’ve deduced the following: he resides in Durham, North Carolina, he has firmly-held convictions on the subject of barbecue, and yesterday, the 31st of August, he set out to get a haircut only to find the barbershop was closed. Pretty average guy, right? Not so fast! As evidenced by mixtape leak We Rap Gr8, beneath Hardy’s mild-mannered exterior lies a skilled emcee with a decidedly left-of-center style. If the opening “Wow! Wow! Wow!” doesn’t get you laughing, the off-the-wall wordplay that follows will; Harlem’s Cash‘s brag-heavy first verse and Mikkey Halsted‘s provocative middle bars don’t disappoint, but it’s the headliner’s unpredictable brand of punchline lyricism that (arguably) shines brightest over 9th Wonder’s quirky woodwind beat. Those intrigued by this track can hear more on Sept. 9th, when The Hardy Boy Mystery Mixtape: Curse of Thee Green Faceded hits the ‘net. In addition, stay tuned for details on a forthcoming. Booth-sponsored project (complete with videos) from Harlem’s Cash.

Much props to the homey Tom Hardy (formerly known as Teethree). I know I've said this on all the blog posts for this song, but I've known dude for a while. I'm glad he's finally getting shine. Me and him did a song back in 2007 called "It's Over (Remix)". I'll see if some of y'all can find that somewhere in the online world...lol.
I wish the production had more to it. It sounded really low and didn't grab me. Maybe it was to emphasize the fact they wanted you to focus on the lyrics and the way they "Rap GR8". I'll toss it in rotation. |

BTW, no hate at H.C and M.Halsted, but Tom Hardy smashed them on this track . NORTH CAROLINA baby! Y'all know the flow reminds me of Andre 3000 & B.O.B a little bit. That eclectic south flow is what's up nowadays!

Nice simple production on this track with excellent drums really sets the tone for this. Both Harlem and Mikkey sounds pretty good, but Tom gets the higher marks for his performance. Sounds exactly like Andre 3000, which is only a good thing because the man brought his A-game to the court. Till second verse it was in Rotation-Stuff but after that third verse ...
