Successful female solo artists are a dying breed, but if there is one man who can revitalize women in today’s music industry, it’s Timbaland. Personally responsible for the successful careers of the late Aaliyah, Missy Elliot and Nelly Furtado, Timbo (along with longtime protégée Danja) is trying his hand once again with a new pair of talented female singers. On the fifth (and final) single, Scream, from the almost-platinum Shock Value, Timbaland re-introduces Keri Hilson (The Way I Are) and helps out label mate Nicole Scherzinger. Both ladies put on quite a show, clearly trying to out do one another, but the real star once again is the song’s producer. Let’s face it, Timbaland could release an instrumental track to radio and get spins.
Timbaland is, in my opinion, the greatest beat-maker in the history of hip hop and R&B. He continues to re-define his style and his beats are so in-depth and complex that its not even fair for the competition. This song takes an appreciative ear to appreciate' haha! But Timbaland is the master and it could have been any one of these girls on the track with him and it would still sound the same. With all that being said, the beat is complex, but not the best sounding-work. The vocals are average...meh...
love this guy. his beats are so rich and orchestrated. I disagree with DJ Z on speeding it up tho... it woulda messed up the polyrhythms goin on in this song.
