Singer Tiffany Evans is not yet old enough to vote, gamble, drink or even drive a car without a permit and an adult in the front seat. However on her follow-up single to Promise Ring (featuring Ciara), Evans is officially proclaiming “I’m Grown.” Using former teen rapper Bow Wow (who is now 20 years old), and expert producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, the Columbia Records signee shows no difficulties elevating her sound to a more mature level. While her age will certainly limit the topical range of her self-titled debut album, her vocal strength and command will certainly help to make up for it. Tiffany Evans is set to drop on March 4th.
I can’t believe she's 15!! For this reason only it'd be already enough to give her props. She has a powerful voice and sings better than a Nelly Furtado, Fergie, Nicole Scherzinger or some pop like that… if she looked like them, she’d be on the top charts yesterday!
She has lots of talent. For whatever reason, I kept thinking of Lupe Fiasco during this track. I think it's the beat. Similar to some on "The Cool". That or the pic of Lupe Fiasco right next to this box.
MuzzieBoi, how can you say this beat is similar to anything on "The cool"?!? Please tell me what song on that album you're talkin about cuz I cant find it... If there's an artist this song reminds me is a "young Beyonce" (the chorus).
She looks like a young ciara from that picture. Darkchild always murder's beats, he is an expert and he comes through HARD on this one. He is the R and B beat specialist (I still thing Timberland is the best though). She can sing, but with the likes of rhianna, ciara, beyonce, and a few others, its getting a bit crowded...Bow Wow only raps for a second in this, but he did what he does. Good track all around.
Any sonq produced by Darkchild is most deff a hit ! she has a qreat voice !couldve waited a couple more years to say that she's "grown" but this is a qood sonq. im not a fan of bow wow but he did a lil sumthn...
This one's a nice change of pace from "Promise Ring". The beat's drum patteren and overall-sound is reminiscent of Rihanna's "Umbrella". If this is the direction R&B is taking, I'm with it. I like r&b singers rocking hard beats. Darkchild does a good job here, but I hardly think he is the R&B specialist. Brian Michael-Cox (B-Cox) got that title locked, but Timbo used to have it back in the day with Aaliyah & Ginuwine. Can't forget about J.D. either. ANYWAY, I'm rocking this one. And props to Bow Wow for jumping off with the Biz Markie line.
Maybe I'll be an idiot but this song could be one by Beyonce...in her last album there were tracks exactly like this! There's a song by Tamia, Too Grown For That, it was produced by Darkchild too and it's very similar to this! The beat is catchy but in my opinion it lacks originality. Forgettable! I give 3 stars only coz I can't define it a bad song, it's ok for clubs.
I think that the beat on this song is fire but I think her vocals could have been a little stronger though. I still dont think she'll be able to compete with everybody else.
AAAAAHHH THIS MY GURL. SHE SO CUTE AND REAL TALENTED TO BE SOO YOUNG. SHE GOT S BIG BEAUTIFUL VOICE TO BE SUCH A LITTLE PERSON JUST LIKE KEYSHIA COLE. THIS SONG IS CUTE TOO IT FIT HER AND WHERE SHE AT WITH HERSELF RIGHT NOW I GUESS. ITS CUTE THOUGH... "IM GROWN NOW" U KNO EVERYBODY BE SAYIN THAT 1.
