Maybe it was just me, but when I heard T.I. was going to prison, I knew he was going to come back hungry and raw, right? Well, since his release T.I has kept a relatively low profile, making some of us wonder when the King was going to truly take his throne back. Now I’m not saying his new street single Yeah Ya Know (Takers) is going to rocket him back to the top, but it’s definitely a banger that reminds us why Tip is praised. The single, which does double-duty as a promotional single for his upcoming movie Takers, shows T.I. dropping an ill flow and lyrics that let us know that prison hasn’t changed him, but rather has made him better. Produced by Smash Factory and DJ Toomp, who has helped T.I. craft hits like What You Know, the song is built around guitars, synths and heavy drums that transform the record into a real trunk banger. If this is a preview of T.I.’s upcoming album King Uncaged, which is set to be released on August 7, then the king will probably be back on his throne soon.

In the last six years there hasn't been a song of Clifford's that I haven't enjoyed, but some are simply much MUCH better than others. "Yeah Ya Know" doesn't exactly reinvent the wheel, but if you're a fan of T.I. you cannot possibly not like this record. Its essence and foundation are everything that built up Tip's fame and reputation.

As a huge fan of T.I. I can only love this song. It is the epitome of a T.I. song. Raw enough to be played in the street yet has the potential to appeal to the common listener.
The production is eerie and is a perfect set up for TIPs vocals, and he goes hard on those vocals too. One thing he does best is not hold back on his energy. I feel certain artists phone in a lot of their work but T.I. goes hard on almost every track he spits. And coming back from jail has only set the bar higher for him. Following up Paper Trail is going to be hard, it might not be as much of a commercial success but King Uncaged is looking good already. |

This should be a hit. Despite the fact that the background has way too much going on and it is too loud, it still works. T.I. is sticking with what has worked for him, and this sounds a bit like a combo of "Whatever You Like" and "What You Know." I do not think this will have the success of "Whatever You Like" but it will be a nice follow up. I really like the choir-like signing "ah ah ah" at various points.

I think this is the best "trap" song by T.I. in his career. You can just hear the anger in his delivery and lyrics after being in prison. The production has an eerie feeling to it and is really motivational. The instrumental is perfect for a warm-up song before a game. The hook is pretty good but what impresses me the most is T.I. lyrics. He switches speeds a few times and most of the time he goes at his breakneck speed that makes him so likeable. Classic hit by T.I.! I'm looking forward to the album already just because of this song.

Background is too loud and has a bunch of other stuff going on. Chorus isn't that great but any other T.I. fan will eat it up. Goes hard for sure. I'm sure others will like the other single he released today with Keri Hilson over this.

This was dope. The only thing is, T.I. making "trap" songs now are bittersweet for me, because right now, it's like him trying to rekindle a time in his career that was more sincere when he was still out there doing the stuff. I liked PAPER TRAIL" because that was him being real to the lane he was in.

An all-star lineup for the booth today! Gotta say this doesn't live up to "I'm Back" for me (which is been bumpin' continuously in my car and ipod since it was out). Flow is fire! This might just need a couple of more spins to grow on me a lil' more. For now, in-rotation.

Other than that new Keri Hilson joint (which we're featuring tonight) T.I.'s been on the warpath since he got out of prison, and the simple truth is he's killing everyone. The list of rappers who could dare touch this is very, very short. When my MMA career takes off, I'm coming out to this song.

First off...Let me begin by saying, I am so Happy that The King is Back! Lyrically, he is picking up where he left off with his last album. Something with this song as a whole is preventing it from being a huge Banger for me. I can see this getting much Radio play, so I'll throw it in rotation, but, I think he can come Harder than this on the new album...

I am a MASSIVE T.I. fan and I have to say this is one hell of a track. You either love it or... LOVE IT.
T.I.'s flow on this track is absolute FIRE!! there is no other word for it. The beat is amzing, the hook, the chorus everything about this track is screaming a HIT!!. This is what T.I. could and can do and rip up and shred the WHOLE hip hop and rap game to bits. The synth/guitar-laden "Yeah Ya Know (Takers)," serves as a promotional tool for both the movie and his album. It's admittedly hard to resist when T.I. spits like this. Way to go T.I. i'm rootin for you every year all the way from England. Whooooo!!!!!! |

After a few listens, I’m kinda disliking the hook more and lyrics are not really that fresh to my ears. But when it comes up on shuffle or something I don't skip it either, due mainly to the flow and production, which are a bit more raw, and the epic atmosphere is definitely present. Hopefully his next street-release will have better lyrics.
