With the upcoming release of his new album King Uncaged in a little more than a month, T.I. has already brought us a mixtape of hits and a couple of singles from the album. His latest effort Ya Hear Me, takes on a catch phrase from the beloved Verizon wireless man (kind of) and flips it into a dope hip-hop joint. So the question remains, “Can we hear him now?” The beat, produced by Grand Hustle in-house boardsmith Keith Mack, features a smooth guitar, as well as a slinking bassline, which catches your attention right away. With a final touch of some organs, the beat ultimately becomes the smooth southern head bobbin’ sound that I feel T.I. has been missing for quite some time. Lyrically T.I. doesn’t really disappoint, although some lines like “leave a n*gga drippin like a sippy cup,” makes you give the side eye. While the hook seems to ask “can you hear me now?”, TIP isn’t really asking, he’s demanding. So Booth fans, are you digging what you’re hearing? King Uncaged is set to roar on August 17.

Not that I wasn't a fan of TIP's two previous "single" options, but "Ya Hear Me" is my favorite of the bunch. Its one of those records that just works.

I'm excited for the new album, but I have a feeling that my expectations might be a little too high. I hope I am proved wrong.

Wtf is happening to T.I. i mean this song isn't that bad but it's not great. His last album was so different from this. The dude was locked up for a year you would think he would be able to write some more meaningful lyrics... Well i hope thats the case when lil wayne gets out because king uncagged is turning out to be an album of ok songs.

Something a bit different from the king. Every time I see a new T.I. song drop I wonder if this is going to be the next big radio single. This definitely is not it but just the fact that it isn't your typical T.I. song makes it better.

Like Z said, my expectations for the album are really high and I haven't heard anything that has blown me away but at the same time I haven't heard a single garbage song yet from him since he has gotten out.

The way I see it, we are seeing all solo songs from T.I. (outside of Got Your Back) and he is waiting to drop the collaborations more towards the release and those will be big. I know he has been working with Eminem, Gaga, and Swizzy just to name a few.

So the way I see it, he is just showing he can still do solo work and re-proving himself to the hip-hop heads of state. The big stuff is on the way (I hope!) Overall a solid song from the king.

A little dissapointed, not because the song is bad but just isn't as epic as any of T.I.'s other singles. Out of the other singles released, Yeah Ya Know is the best but I doubt it will be big on the radio and Got Your Back is doing mediocre.

I'm still waiting on that huge single that he's capabale of making (What You Know or Live Your Life), this still isn't it.

Agreed that this is by far his best work off the upcoming album. Yet I am still waiting for the song that proves to me why it should be a highly anticipated album. His mixtape was average at best and these songs are just below what tip is capable of. I don't know if jail took more from him than he thought, but where is the Tip that everyone thought there is supposed to be. Where is the experience he gained in jail in his music?

Beat is dope: that bassline, guitar and organ bring a fresh vibe! The opening alone is enough to tell you the musical greatness you're about to have.
I'd love to hear this live!

T.I. makes it sound easy, but there's actually an amazing effort in how he rides the beats he gets. It's as great as a flow can get! He actually makes it proper without loosing any comfort and sounding genuine and dynamic. People are so damn spoiled...

I agree with Z, I think my expectations for King Uncaged are too high....the songs I've heard havent been that great.

This is something a bit different from TIP. It works well, though it sounds like more of a cool album cut than a single. I dont think he's come hard enough with the singles he's released for this album. He should have just come correct with 1 monster single like Em did with his record

But the beat is sick, T.I comes correct and the King is back! I'm happy with that at the moment

completely agree with everyones comments
his last album was so good, he is struggling to match his last success
and it feels as if hes rushing to get songs out so ppl dnt forget him, but it would be better to spend time on each song.
dont get me wrong is style and tunes are still good, as seen in this song
but it fails to deliver anything above mediocre

I agree album's gonna be interesting, definitely gonna be interesting. I think what we all were expecting is TI to acknowledge his jail "experiences" and turn them into as radio-friendly joints they can get. Something like Eminem successfully did with "Recovery" by turning his mind-state into chart-killers "Not Afraid", "Talkin To Myself" etc. Instead what we are getting is I'm-back-like-I-never-left smack-talking joints. Or maybe he is saving all that content as album tracks. Hmm...

Anyways, to treat this song as a standalone - this solid production has a nice bounce to it with swirling bassline perfectly orchestrated, rising above the drums and lovely organ touches to caress the musical senses and TI effortlessly bumps it up to multiple-spin status. BANGER!!!

I feel like what we've heard from this album so far has either been banger or radio, it's great to hear something right in the middle. Musically speaking, it's my favorite off the album so far.

Unfortunately, like JR, I have to subtract a star for the less than TIP's best lyrics. He'd still kill 99% of rappers, but T.I.'s done better flows that don't include "sippy cup" and "OMG" reference.

I have high, high hopes for King Uncaged.

But I think the pressures mounting now and I'm hoping the expectations keep meeting the demands.

He needs to hold it together, cannot wait for his upcoming projects!!!!!
