The lord giveth, and the lord taketh away. On the same day that Lil Wayne finally heads off to jail for an eight month bid, the long-imprisoned and still King of the South T.I. has decided to begin his comeback tour with his aptly named new single I’m Back. If you were wondering if prison would change T.I.’s sound, it hasn’t; I’m Back sounds like it could have come off King, right down to the triumphantly epic, trap music beat from The Trackslayerz (although T.I. has played down the more overt gun talk). In the end though, as always, I’m Back is T.I.’s show, as he immediately sets out to remind any challengers that may have sprung up during his absence who still rules the South: “No matter what they doin they don’t do it like me.” Ain’t that the truth. I’m Back is off T.I.’s still untitled new album (due out this August), meaning that for now you’ll just have to be patient and enjoy some new music from Clifford Harris. It’s been far too long.

i heard his cd is titled return of the king...i bet...this should have been a bigger record, no t.i. is not back with this but i notice he releases a street song then a pop song...but i don't like this i wish he would go back to his ASAP days...

Exactly what we needed...Shows he's toned down the more violent stuff, but still has that disgust towards the lames-so both sections of his fanbase are happy!

Idk its a good song, but definitly doesnt pesonify the epic comeback i was anticipatin. But i know he got some heat comin soon so i aint worried. Ill just the judge the song for wat it is.

Like Drake's new song, this sounds more like a street single then a radio single. T.I.'s rhymes are sick, though I thought the production was lacking. This wont be a hit (though it will probably debut high on the charts), though its still a good track.

Great to hear from Tip again! This track had crazy energy and a bangin beat. I'm only giving it a 3 because I think it sounded too much like his other street singles. Still very glad to see T.I. back and ready to blow again.

This is cool, same quality that TI has always had, but its not really one that would stand-out on his album. Good to hear from TI, but i wanna hear some straight crazy sh!t like when tupac got out.

I wasn't expecting to hear such an aggressive sound from T.I. after his release (I thought he would go down the "reformed wrongdoer" route), but either way it's good to have him back. I can't believe that was already a year - he really did a good job of maintaining his momentum.

Damn this track is hard. I'm glad he came back with a banger than a song like No Matter What. I hope his next album will have him returing to his Trap Muzik-King days of music. It's good to see TI back.

yo yo... 1st thing 1st. this track gets -1 stars for the title. im so sick of hearin entertainers and athletes say this ova and ova again. "im back" is as annoying as the whole "swag" thing. as for the song, its a strong comeback song in the sense that it will make noise cuz the energy and power T.I. brings on it. but, overall, the song is far from T.I.'s best. im glad hes back too.

TI was one of my favorite rappers after Paper Trail which i thought was an incredible album (minus Porn Star). So its good to hear him back. I thought it was good, 3.5

this wasnt classic tip but it still was better than a lot of stuff out there at the moment. i agree with matthew kyle- i thought we also wouldve gone down the "reformed wrong-doer path" but with this certain street song he is proving that he isnt wasting any time getting back to the top. im thinking this is just a precursor to what will hopefully be a great album
