Taking a slight turn from his first single, T.I. has (once again) teamed up with Swizz Beatz for a formulaic, high-octane club track, which will be found on the September 9 release of Paper Trail. Despite his highly publicized legal woes and an alleged diss track from a not-so-low-key critic, the self-proclaimed “King” shuns his naysayers and merely wants to have fun on Swing Your Rag. Garnering an Internet-wide buzz, the record has perfect mixture of Nor’eastern and Southern swagger. Tailoring the beat for T.I’s custom fit, The One Man Band Man uses his signature synthesizers over heavy percussion and adds electric guitars, organs and horns that will make plenty of rags whip around like tornadoes.
I just saw the video for T.I's "I Ain't Dead" this morning, and it created a new interest in T.I for me. Swizz did his thing on the beat, but he could have came better. This song is decent from T.I.P. It's definitely not as good as "I Ain't Dead". I'll give this a 3, but I expect better from T.I.
You got another one fellas! This is a banger! Club joint! it won't have the impact of some of the other joints that they've done together, but this will be heat on what I expect to be a complete album.
garbage. t.i. cant rap. i didnt even hear him with the crazy swizzy beat. unfortunately, the only thing this song will do is make YOUNGINS go out of their way to buy a gucci/loui rag to wave in the air at the club... so sad.... =(
nice swizzy beat though.
=)
This morning I heard about 50 cent dissing TI and I thought to myself, 50 doesn't have nothing on TI...TI consistently comes out with Bangers and it doesn't matter if its a club song or more sentimental track.
I heard TI sayin that this was the 08 version of "Bring Em Out." That got me over-hyped for this song and when I finally heard it, I was dissapointed because I was making the comparison. This song just doesn't do it for me. Maybe because I can't relate because I'm not the kind of person known to be swinging a rag in a club....that's just me?
Nice beat from swizzy. TI has had some good and meaningful lyrics lately. So far Paper Trail is 3/3 on the songs ive heard(No Matter What, A Better Day, and This one).
I don't know how I feel about this one. It certainly is not "Bring 'Em Out," though. This will do well, but it doesn't make me wanna scream at the top of my lungs... "TI is back with this one, yo!"
im not the biggest T.I. even though i live in A-Town, i agree wit Z through this doesnt get me excited bout T.I. comin back, the beat is energitic, but this song is subpar, i know its going to be a hit just based on the BOOTH consensus, not my cup of tea
wow..some of you continuously give horrible ratings for tracks (ie. Patty) and I still haven't figured out why. I understand it is your opinion but if you don't listen to hip hop on the daily i don't see how it is fair to low ball an artist in that genre. I wouldn't go on a rock site and rate every song if I don't listen to that kind of music. You need to understand that some tracks are made for certain moods and situations and this track is a CLUB banger.
i personally dont like swizz beatz but this is FIREEEEE. t.i. and swizz have a connection on the song and the lyrics and beat just all fit. sickkk song no doubt
hiphop613, I know full well about hip hop. If YOU yourself knew anything about the history of T.I, you'd know that this song does not add up to the his previous singles in the past. I think plenty of people on here know this, and that's why it's receiving the ratings it is getting. Plus Nizxplay, let me reiterate again that everyone can have their own opinions. Once again Patty stated what she liked and disliked about the track, and on top of that, she made a comparison to a previous T.I track that she felt she liked better than this one. I think she and others fully knew what they were doing, weighed the opinions and stated what their thoughts were clearly. Point blank.
BTW, 613 is an Ontario area code right? That's what's up. I'm digging the Canadian hip hop scene right now, no doubt. Big ups to Drake, Kardinal Offishal, Classified, Famous & Richie Sosa.
I know all about T.I. and got his albums..even though this does not measure up fully to his previous singles it is still a better club track than half the stuff out there. No one should expect to be blown away from lyrical content of this track since it is club oriented so you won't hear any messages like you would from someone like Nas. I guarantee that this song will bang in the club scene down south and everywhere else. I personally think the most consistent in the game right now is Game, Jigga and Nas among others...and ya 613 is ontario...kardinal doin big things right now.
dis song fire da king done his thing as usual swizz is sic wit da beat oh yuh and to all da hatin comments on dis go listen to wut up cuz dats da king's message to yall! haha
grand hustle!!
Straight fiya best song i heard so far. The only reason people trippin on it is cuz they tryin to compare it to "bring em out" which was an instant classic.
THIS SONG IS HOT!!!!
Personally this is my favorite from T.I. I expect more this was the worst song from him but Its T.I. Swizzy Didnt Kill Nuthin He Really Hasnt He Is A Featured Person So Since T.I. 4 Stars But His Voice Is Ridin Nice Sounding Beat Brought The Song
