With just two weeks remaining until the highly-anticipated release of Paper Trail, it appears one last T.I. single might be let out of the bag by our good friends at Atlantic Records. Live Your Life, which was performed in front of a national audience at MTV’s Video Music Awards earlier this month, features a vivacious singing accompaniment from the beautiful Rihanna and unlikely production courtesy of Just Blaze. For those who might obsess over where they last heard the song’s introduction and sample, look no further than Moldovan pop group O-Zone, and their #1 European hit single, Dragostea din tei. T.I.’s current single, Whatever You Like, is on top of the Billboard Hot 100 and has been a fixture on the DJBooth Top Picks chart for more than a month.
Lovin this track. The reason this track is gonna be fire is because that chorus is so damn catchy! One of the hottest choruses I;ve heard in a while, props to Rihanna. Don't forget about Tip though, dude did his thing here. Paper Trail is gonna be his best album to date, I'm expecting big things. This track is a for sure hit, perfecto!
Normally I would hate on somethin like this, but naw not this time. To fresh, and goes right along with TI's wanted theme. I hate to say it since Nas is one of my favorite artists, but this album really could end up being better. There is no way TI can match the lyrical material by Nas but by him makin so many hits already this album will be fire. By the way there is nothin better than seeing people bounce back from mistakes. I have done it, my family has done it so I have much respect for people who keep grindin. Keep ya head up TIP. Much repect. I am copppin this album and urgin everyone else too.......
this is the definition of a pop 100 hhit for TI...rihanna on the hook, sampling a techno song, just blaze beat! we're gonna remember how big this one was for a while!!!
this keeps going on my mp3 player. in a way, it sounds like a song Lupe Fiasco would do. the hook is crazy and t.i. is really going hard this year. i'm tellin you, this is going to be the best constructed album of 2008.
WOW RIHANNA SOUNDS GOOD ON THIS I THINK SHE GIVES IT THAT SOMETHING EXTRA TO IT,AND T.I FLOWS NICELY OVER THIS BEAT FROM JUST BLAZE,I LIKE HOW T.I CAN CHANGE IT UP ON ANY SONG CANT WAIT TO SEE HOW PAPER TRAIL GOES CANT HATE ON THIS..
It pretty much looks like Paper Trail is goin b T.I.P. best album.. i'm really lookin foward to wat he's bringin to da table this time.. But @*#$! Sept. 30 we'll c da results
NUMA NUMA so sick intro, but gottA ADMIT TI sounds so lame the way hes rapping. only reason its a 5 cause theyre using the old numa numa song, rhianna, n the chorus
YO this song is on fire i really think that t.i.p is one of the best rappers. He did his thing on this track and rihanna was amazing i give 5/5 rating =D
Wow I didn't think the "Numa Numa" song would ever be sampled on a rap track lmao. But Rihanna absolutely murders the hook. TI does what he always does, nothing amazing lyrically but smooth and easy. I expect this one to be a MAJOR hit.
this is a good spin. the combination of T.I. and Rhianna combine nicely. Nice rhythm, nice lyrics, nice flow. Don't be surprised if this song isn't on the top of some charts.
SICK sample. Rihanna was great, and TI killed lyrically! I loved it when I saw it on the VMA's and kept wanting to to rewind it. PAPER TRAIL SEPTEMBER 30!!!
***In order to create more conversation about the records within these threads, I will begin to post questions to our readers. In regards to 'LIVE YOUR LIFE,' - Should this have been selected as the first single? Yes or No? Include the response in your feedback!***
I hated that yaa haa song. I really really do. This song is kinda cool though. T.I. is a heavy hitter clearly. He just gets better every year. Rihanna does well on that hook. So I say this bangs. But I won't be listenin to this often because of that awful sample.
First single? Maybe it clearly is gettin good reviews. Problem is , I personally hate the sample. The message is uplifting, rihanna is a huge star. This works well. Better than that horrible track whatever you like. Swagger like mine is a classic, but I believe Jay snatched that one up.
This is probably one of the best singles I've heard in a while. It has all the elements for success; T.I. is doing the way he should, Rihanna is just on straight fire, the beat is absolutely catchy & hot, and it has loads of commercial appeal. When I heard this song a while ago, the numa numa sample intro had me rather worried. But the way Rihanna infused it into her style just worked for her. And absolutely this track should have been selected as the first single. It was well received at the MTVVA's, having Rihanna on your track instantly jumps it up on the hotness scale, and this track completely eclipses 'Whatever You Like'.
Once again, great track from TI. This track blends so well and has a mass appeal. I think it is going to create even more buzz for the already highly anticipated new album. Look out, cause "Live Your Life" is headed straight to the top! 5/5
My first time hearing was on the awards show. I was feeling it then and still feelin it now. It is a great collabo and Just Blaze's production is made this song crazy smooth. This definitely goes hard in the car and on the dance floor. One thing about T.I. that I've always liked is that I can understand every single word that comes out his mouth, great diction while being gangsta, lol, 5 stars~(**)~
I heard this song 2 days ago from a friend of mine, who had it on her cd...she had heard it during the Awards of course! I didn't watch them so I didn't know this song yet. Well it's a banger for sure, catchy production. T.I. does his thing as always and Rihanna perfectly fits the great hook! The only thing I don't like is that they took the Dragostea Din Tei sample...I used to hate that song, it was a big success here in Italy and I became tired of it very soon! I see no reason for taking this sample, it gives nothing to the already good song
In response to DJ Z's question: Personally, I would have liked to hear this song earlier on, it has a kind of addictive vibe to it. Of what he has released Live Your Life, should have either been before or after No Matter What, and definitely in front of Swing Your Rag, and Whatever You Like.~(**)~
When I first heard this at the VMA's, I was stunned. Not only was he sampling from one of the most popular Polish dance song ever, he had Rihanna singing it. I thought that this was really cool the way they did this, and although I thought that the live version was better, this is a really good song.
Z I personally don't think it matters. 'Whatever U Like' is doing big things on the chart right now and all you hear about is T.I. in a positive light. I think this song will have the same exact effect, this is a #1 hit on his hands just waiting to blow. Doesn't really matter which one came first, they're both going to do him justice and put him on top.
hey baer, being Polish myself trust me..that sample song is not polish my man hahah...blaze is a @*#$! monster, takin that corny but catchy song and turning it this piece of art...Rhianna is my future ex-wife but she dont know it yet and T.I's new album is gonna be blazzzin'
this is an amazing song. unfortunately, it should have come out at the BEGINNING of summer, not the END of summer. I'm expecting big things from T.I. The KING is back!
Lol Rhianna is wiv chris brown *lucky man*. Preferably thinks swagger like us is going to just bigger just because of the names on it. Lyrically i prefer No matter what.
In the beginnng, I don't like this song much, but propz to Rihanna for the chorus. I have a feeling that Rihanna is not singing good at live perfomances, but sometimes I thinks is she just having fun or something. Or is that her style of singing. Because sometimes he just sing false. I do't hate on her, but I'm just asking.
I think that this will end up being #1 hit but i still think Whatever you Like will do this album just fine. Best song of the album yet is No Matter what. in my opinion it is the hardest I have ever heard TI go (No Matter What). Regardless this album will be hot and sell the second most behind Wayne. Which aint right, this will be hotter.
That is a SICK ASS SAMPLE! I didn't think anyone in the Hip-Hop world would ever be able to use it successfully. T.I. Kills it on this track! If his whole album is going to be like this, then he might actually have a better album than Trap Musik (Finally)! His flow is SICK on here, and Rihanna sounds Incredible on here with the T-Pain Machine! Definitely feelin' this one!!!
Great sample and the chorus is great!! TI and Rihanna make a great combination and you wouldnt expect too good hip-hop and r & b songs with whatever u like and livin your life... i heard this 2 weeks ago and i cant stop listening
Heard this a few days ago,
BANGERR!! Love the intro, Rihanna does an amazing job on this one to, not the best song on the album, but still one worth listening to until the release of Paper Trail =D haha, Paper Trail is gonns be a hugeeeeeeeee album, T.I. HAS stepped his game up, and his "diversity" is greater than no other in the game, Rihanna does an incredible job on the hook, Z, i think this song should have been released first, If we wouldve heard this, and then Whatever You Like, then Swagger Like Us, Swing Ya Rag, and then No Matter What first, you can guarantee he woulda copped more albums, because No Matter What is an amazing song, creatively and its heartwarming to, and that wouldv'e just anticipated the album so much it wouldve been impossible to sell less than NAS, T.I. is now over Akon in my book, T.I. #1!!, and I do also think T.I.'s album is better than NAS's, and i think this album will be the best of the year as well, T.I. is at the top of his game right now.
UNLIKE SOME SONGS OUT TODAY...WHICH HAVE NO MEANING OR REPECT FROM ME...LOOKIN AT YOU RICK ROSS, FLO-RIDA, AND FAT JOE AND MOST RAPPERS FROM FLORIDA...
TGIS SONG HAS TRUE MEANING...
ITS A CLASSIC IN MY EYES
Hip Hop at its best....production of the chain....a song with meaning...rihanna takes the hook to another level...and TIP showin us why he's the King...
in response to DJ Z's question, I def. think that S.L.U should have been the first single, then Watever You Like, then this then, No Matter What, and finally Swing Ya Rag. This would have provided a nice balance of hype-ness and seductiveness enabling him to equally hit dudes and chicks. Also, when you get to many hype songs back to back, you lose the force b/c one song overshadows the other (same thing with too mellow songs). Paper Trail def. gonna be big b/c he's well played on every radio station and hitting all types of people and creating new fans...kinda like weezy did with this past year.
I think that this song is classic but i dont think it is better than whatever you like. In whatever you like his flow goes throughout the whole song and the song itself stands out rather than just one part. In this single the hook is for sure the highlight of the song. Im not saying the rest of the song isnt good, because it is, i just mean that it isnt as good as the hook
I'm expecting a MUCH better album that Carter III. Everything we have heard yet is FIRE. Awesome performance from the VMA's.. this is a BANGER. Hopefully this album will make Wayne tone down that ego of his.
I agree with DJ BLAZE no one in the hip-hop world could ride out that sample as good as this colabo..i just hope they don't include that fat numa numa youtube star in the video. BANGERRRRRRRRRRR
i also hate tha song that they're go-n off of. i think some of yall r jus ovr react-n jus cuz itz t.i. but wuteva...i real-e dont think itz that special (i think therez more who think that itz just OK but are too afraid to speak up so i will) itz OK nuth-n great.
lmfao, Numa Numa... Something CHARLES H. would do, especially after Mr. Rogers. Rihanna is doing some big things this year. Whether it's this track or the BOOMING "Number One (Tide Is High)" with Kardi (second best album of the year, right after Untitled!). I don't like the voicebox on Rihanna, though I don't hate the thing at all. T.I. blew me away. He's honestly the last guy to do anything that was done with this song, and yet it happened. Dammnn. Lastly, Just Blaze; what's to hate? I love his productions!
