Thunderkatz - 3 AM
Artist: Thunderkatz
Producer: Mel & Mus
Album: 19hundred80something
Label: The Inc./WallStreet/Motown
Murder, Inc. mogul Irv Gotti has signed many influential urban acts in his career, from rapper Ja Rule to R&B songstress Ashanti. Now, he’s taking on a new type of artist: pop group Thunderkatz. Producers Mel & Mus jump on board the Atlanta-based group’s new pop-urban single, 3 AM; an up-tempo club number mixing electric, ’80s throwback synths with sultry piano notes. Looking to create a musical confection worthy of their far more famous labelmates, the sextet’s electro-punk influences combined with a ghetto savvy make for pure listening pleasure. Watch for the group’s debut, 19hundred80something, which is set to drop in the fourth quarter of this year.

This production is nuts and mad catchy! I love the eclectic 80s style club joints. I think Kanye's new album is going to be a lot of this. Futuristic music is the hottest new trend. I could actually hear him on a remix to this. If you don't support the FRESH KIDS and WHAT'S NEXT KIDS, you probably won't support this. Guess you're just too old. LOL.

Yea we're in the 80's. Anyone who saw the VMA's in full knows that. Honestly I like it to a certain extent, but at the same time I see this generation as lazy and lacking of creating. Swagger jackin and entire era is kinda corny. This song is not bad. I can see it working today and in 86!

right about now...Rock City penned...its ok, beat is a bit empty. it would work better if the vocals and voices would sound phatter

The production is similar to that of 90s dance songs in my opinion...for example those of Corona, Haddaway etc! I'm feelin this, it's innovative, and I love the girl's bridge! All of them are ok! The only thing I don't like is that the beat is a bit too fast

I have mixed feeling about this...I really like the beat but some parts just sound better to me...i didnt like the girls first verse, the hooked i was all about, the dudes verse i liked then it went back to that girl and i didnt like...I guess i have to listen to it couple of more times to see if it grows on me until then i leave at a solid 3

Can someone tell me if that beat samples Prince " I Will die 4 U"? It kinda seriously reminds me of a freestlye version of it.

This is some funky infectious ish! The Thunderkatz have some serious talent, and they are an actual band which makes them all the more appealing. All they need is an opportunity to shine and the right backing, so Gotti dont mess this up!
