Pumped-up, exhilarating and—of course—provocative, N*ggas in Paris won tremendous reader acclaim when it hit the Booth on the 13th. Let’s not forget, however, that the same day as that juggernaut of a single dropped, The Throne also released Why I Love You—a moodier jam which just happens to be one of my favorite tracks off the album. Kanye West stays behind the boards for the most part, hooking up with Mike Dean and Anthony Kilhoffer to flip a sample from French house duo Cassius’ I Love You So (itself sampled from Sandra Richardson’s I Feel a Song (In My Heart)) into a fittingly caustic synth backdrop for Jigga‘s chronicle of calumny and betrayal. In verses packed with impressionistic imagery, Hov’ shakes his head at former homies who took advantage of his benevolence: “I tried to teach n*ggas how to be kings, and all they wanted to be was soldiers.” UK pop heavyweight Mr. Hudson rounds out the lineup, overlaying his vocals in place of Richardson’s original hook. Will this joint become a smash when it hits mainstream radio Oct. 4? Debate away—and, if you’re one of the two or three individuals who have yet to cop, Watch the Throne, head to your local record store to learn what all the fuss is about.

Great track that has Jay detailing his past with Rocafella. Ye did a great job with production complements the track well. Solid track that is a favorite of mine from the album.

This is such an excellent finale for an amazing album. The way kanye and jay shortened their lines going back and forth in the final verse until they say the final word together was powerful and the perfect handling of who gets last say on the album

Mr.Hudson needs a hit single. Enough said. Been a fan of him since I heard 'Supernova'.

From the mini documentary that dropped pre-release, I was buggin out when I watched Jay spit. I was intrigued and wanted to know immediately what song it was. So when the verse from the video dropped, I had on my "rapper stank face". Because you can't help but visualize this guy buggin out. Kanye and Mike Dean killed production. Hov airs out some emotion about the Roc-a-Fella situation (so many of us assume, at least). Cop the album if you don't have it already!

I don't know. Everybody's saying that this was one of their favorite songs off the album. But to me, this was one of my least favorite tracks. I really wasn't feeling the chorus or the production.

Great song. Nice production, cool hook, and Jay was great. Love the 3rd verse when Jay and Ye are trading lines back and forth. Should be a huge hit.
