The Kid Daytona - The Body
Artist: The Kid Daytona
Producer: Ill Bomb
Album: Mick Boogie Presents: The Daytona 500 Mixtape
Label: Jack Move Inc.
True to his high-octane stage name, The Kid Daytona is an emcee who lives life in the fast lane. Just how fast is he, you may ask? Well, on his first Booth feature, the Bronx rapper bodies three different beats in the time it would take most emcees to blaze one. To be fair, mixtape cut The Body owes much of its white-knuckle feel to Ill Bomb‘s absolutely crazy boardwork—after a deceptively mellow beginning, his instrumental roars through the starting gate and doesn’t stop moving from there, swerving between dense videogame funk and minimalistic boom-bap before settling into a glittering, synth-heavy groove. Daytona hugs the curves, switching up his flow and subject matter to match the beatsmith’s every musical detour without breaking a sweat (he even raps a cappella on the back end). It’s pretty dizzying, but listeners with an open mind and a good pair of headphones will undoubtedly appreciate this cut’s creativity. Mick Boogie Presents: The Daytona 500 hits the ‘net May 5th, and on the 8th TKD will step into the Booth for an exclusive freestyle.

This is real nice, the production is nuts! I liked it a lot. Dude did his thang over the beat wit so many different vibes. The originality and the successful execution of so many different sounds together at once without it sounding cluttered earn this joint rotation from me.

Nothing I would really listen to again, but I can't hate at all. It was pretty creative. For that, I give it a 3.

VERY BUSY DAY...
TKD definitely impresses us over at DJBooth and I know you all will hear what we do soon enough. This production is crafty, but it slightly takes away the focus of what is being spit. Freestyle soon. Check for it. @that1kid13 - Unfortunately, no. Sorry! |

TKD is nice on the mic. Lovin the production switches and choices. Only thing with multiple production parts is that people will choose their favorites and only listen to part of the song ya feel me?

TKD was decent, though the production completely ruined this song.
