In November of 2006, The Game contracted 24 of the industry’s top artists and recorded a mega-remix to his street single, One Blood. Since then, the L.A. native has participated in several high-profile remixes, including Rich Boy’s Throw Some D’s and Hurricane Chris’s Ay Bay Bay. With high expectations for the August release of his new album, L.A.X., The Game has once again thrown down the remix card. Joining along for this multi-regional version of Game’s Pain are New Yorkers Jadakiss and Fat Joe, Southern representatives Bun B and Young Buck, and Virginia native, Pusha T, all of whom follow the leader’s theme and shout-out their early musical influences. Over a stripped down version of the original beat, The Game adds not one, but two brand new verses and Queen Latifah (remember her?) joins original holdover, Keyshia Cole, for the closing hook. Take a listen, it’s anything but painful.
Note: The streaming of “Game’s Pain (Remix)” has temporarily been suspended.
Listen to The Game's Game's Pain ft. Jada, Bun B, Fat Joe, Young Buck and More...
Wussup DJBOOTH.NET!!!!.... This beat is classic and it goes hard right here! All yall know I am not a real Game fan, but he spits nicely on this beat. Jadakiss sounds right at home. Bun B's flow is nice and smooth (as usual)! He is really killin it lately! Young Buck is hurtin' it too! Great Track! This is a 4-star track right here...I hate to say it but this is actually a CERTIFIED DJ BLAZE BANGER!
Normally it would be a banger, because all the artists killed it, but just Young Buck doing a guest verse on this remix (G-G-G-G-U-NO!), and Game saying "Welcome back" right after that turned it into a CLASSIC! The two realest who were in the Unit are gone, now we just need Spider Loc and Hot Rod to jump ship, Banks to go on Koch, and while 50 falls, I bet Yayo will just disintegrate...CLASSIC right here man-LAX, August 26, be there or be square!
I don't know what to call it but I love that squeal noise that Jadakiss does on every song. It sounds so ridiculous! This would blend real nice with Biggie's "Juicy."
The original has been my favorite song for weeks now. This remix is definitely hot. The original and this are instant classics! A classic homage track . That's what I love about a lot of Game's joints is that he creates homage tracks. I love that. The revised beat is definitely just as dope as the original. Oh snap, this is the best Fat Joe verse is a while. Maybe he's making a return with actual lyrics now. Young Buck is a beast and has been a beast! This remix just cosigns that fact. The Queen Latifah part came in sort of awkward and stayed awkward. LOL. Other than that, the rest was off the chains.
The 80s 90s is in full effect and I'm lovin it! This movement is killin the airwaves right now and I'm diggin it. I love how Malice got off on this. This is a true classic remix. We gon be playiin this 4 ever yall. GAME you are killin um. BUCK!! MUCH respect you don't need pee-unit! Welcome home! This is monumental!! Latifah? OH man! This is it right here!
This is a real REmix! Not only they actually changed the beat but also the artists show chemistry, as if everybody was together in the booth while recording this. Except for Fat Joe (average as always), everybody does an amazing job, but special mention goes obviously to Young BUCK, that was a tough feature (G-Unit will surely disappear… kinda like the way they compelled Ja Rule to. What goes around comes around)! The Game’s personality (like his name dropping showing sympathy for other artists) seems to be gaining him the respect of almost everyone in the business… I mean, no one refuses to work with him (except maybe for Dr. Dre, but that’s another issue, lol) nor has he problems with being featured everywhere!
Game is the MAN, this is a real remix.....the beat is SICK and everyone layes quality verses, classic.......go cop dat LAX when it drops, bcuz i know i will
Simple beat... With game making no really great impressions,or catchy phrases. What's happened to trend setting words and creative lyrics, well you won't find them here. I see everyone went with the flow of the first critic and all I got to say is,"even a dead fish flow's with the current."
Lol @ JESAVAIL02, I also love that sound Jada does, as well as the “yeargh” by Pusha-T, I know it’s stupid, but it’s so characteristic that it’s good. (Young Berg tried to come up with one but his sounded awful like someone being choked.)
We may be dead fish NUTTYMAC, but at least we are NOT BRAINDEAD like you! If you were not so conceited, you would notice pretty much everyone liked it for different reasons and the first critic doesn’t even like The Game (DJBlaze hates him actually), so your comment doesn’t make any sense!!! This is not your average teen forum…
L.A.X. is going to be murderous. Open the case, and smokes going to billow out. That's how hot the disc is gonna be. This track is fantastic. Beat stays to the original feel, and the lineup rivals the AFC Team. Really loving this track. Game is tight, J-A-D-A is hot, Cocababy was average, and Bun B just didn't stop bringing it. Banger.
I didn't see any flaws in the original, and I don't see any flaws in the remix either. The hook, the beat, and all the verses are hot! This is in HEAVY rotation!
the rest is boring? do u even listen to lyrics at all? this song is ill..u messin up the rating on a summer banger for no reason..anyways, everybody on this track was on point and they made a sick track while payin homage to others
Man this remix is sick. The beat is nutz. The Game killed it. Jada killed. Bun B murdered this. Pusha T had the hardest verse on here. Joe was once again garbage
One more thing- I gotta say, that this is the true definition A REMIX. -A song with a new beat and new lyrics. Big up's to Game for giving it his all for his fans, let's hope LAX isn't his last album...
This one hott ass song a super hitt the game does it best nothing but respect truely one of the best in this short amount of time needs to get more props
k people who said dat they didnt like it got hated on so dont go hate-n on me when i say: i cant stand it. ma reasonz:1) i hate da beat which makez it unlist-n-a-bull for me. 2) all their rap-n iz boring. 3)didnt like da original. and 4) well, datz basic-le it cuz wit boring lyricz and a bad beat- datz real-e wut it takez for a song not 2 be gud. (MY opinion)
Hiphop613 I have to write again that I'm Italian and I usually don't understand what they say. I like hip hop for its energic beats! If I can understand the words and they are good it's better, but the main thing for me is the beat. This has a boring beat to me, a song can't be only lyrics, I'm sorry this is my opinion. If a song has excellent lyrics but an horrible melody I will never listen to it. I know this is real hip hop, but there are real hip hop songs I like...it's only an opinion! ;)
ya know wut m. burmy- i dont real-e care wut these people think of me anyway- they dont know me so who r they 2 judge me...i rate da song on how i like it and datz it...i aint gon lie jus so it looks like i like DIS "real hip hop"... da lyricz may be gud but dat doesnt change my overall opinion.
It speaks volumes about the industry that they can completely rewrite this song and make so many more shout outs to all the people who made hip hop what it is. I agree its the true definition of a remix too. And i don't get the 1 and 2 ratings because hip hop is often more about the lyrics than the beat. Patty, you said you liked the beat and just took it back, choose one.
Umm.. I dont know what you guys are hearing on this because they made this song worse. The different beat they are using here is not that good. I mean I wish they could of put these new lines and lyrics on the orginal version of this song and used that beat instead. Then I would of liked it more. 2.5 stars
I agree about adding Kanye, Lupe and Andre. I was just thinking about that. I agree with Matthew. I mean, this beat wasn't bad either, but it didn't have the swagger of the original beat. BTW, I have a This Far (Game's Pain) Remix up @ http://www.youngsonmusic.com. You guys should check that out.
Thanks Fred for pointing that out to our little friend!
M.Burmy - I can't believe you actually think that GAME and Young Buck were the best two on G-Unit! I always thought Game felt out of place on G-Unit in the first place...he should have just been a Dr. Dre artist; but they knew he would sell more records with 50....Young buck used to spit FIRE like 3-4yrs ago...now it is more hit or miss with him. I still think 50 is one of the strongest flowers in the game today and his songs are still hot...The new G-Unit album...well...that's another story...But 50 and Banks (sometimes Yayo) were the best lyricists in G-Unit and they are still there. 50 would MURDER the game in a battle!
50 is weak...how is he gonna battle the game...there is so much ammo out there to pulverize 50's weak ass...50 is played out...banks a yayo are weakest rappers in the industry right now...50'is 1 step below them....g-urine...
Point blank this is a feel good song it captures what hip hop was born off and for these cats to be giving props to the OG's just shows alot of respect and it was done on a classic beat who cares how many times its been used already i can name over a 100 songs that share the same beat in some form the beat was hot in the 80's and its hot now. And Blaze you cant say Buck is wack homie he's just not on that same shit he was on a few years ago dude is growing and changing you can tell he has been hanging with the Outlawz bcuz his rymes are getting more politcal..
This is ill! Yea the beat is stripped down, but if you are a DJ like me then this is even better! I love remixing remixes! juicy would be the obvious choice, but Its open to do anything.. As for the lyrics its sick and paying homage to the greats from back in the day.. So don't hate if you cant relate! (that means you too wow;) Respect your elders. And typing shit like "dis an dat, gud, das, basic-le??" Really shows how retarded some people can be! lol.... And blaze must be really on one to think 50 is good at all.. He's phony homey.. thought you knew?
thanks DJBooth for always holding it down. Much love
i never felt the game was part of g-unit, he never made a album with them, he did make songs with them, but all labelmate makes songs together....the game just went along on the ride with gunit, because dre thought it would be best 4 the games....anyways the game is the S#*^
FredRico- I got to go listen to Y Berg's attempt. NUTTYMAC must think we are followers and not independent minds. Furthermore, can a dead fish swim up a current, I don't think so; that's why this track stands out. Holla at ya boy!
Yea Game And Buck Together again and Queen Latifah...WTF??... but sounds good got everybody delivered on this remix props to Pusha T...really good underestimated rapper....But Cop L.A.X July 22th And If You wanna hear some really good 50 cent Get that Sincerely Yours, Southside Mixtape best out now
Song's definately a banger. I've been listenin' to a lotta older Jada recently. Always liked him, since We Gon' Make It. As for Joe, idk. There's something that I've NEVER gotten, like I still haven't found a good song where I've listened and liked it because of him. And honestly,.... Game would take 50 in a battle. Game seems more of a battle-type rapper than 50. Everyone can agree that there's two types of freestyle: basic and battle. Simply, 50's not a battlin'-type.
It's a hot track I have to admit but it's more of a summer time track or just chill track. you can't just play this anytime. you have to be in the mood for like for instance i just got off work i'm tired. A chill song.
I had a feeling Buck and Game would get on a track again glad to see now i just need Dr. Dre and Game to get back together. This remix had good features and i like the beat change this was a real remix from the beat to the lyrics to the features.Classic!
DJ Blaze, all I said was they were the "realest" in G-Unit. Who's the best rapper is a matter of opinion (although in mine, them & Spider Loc are the best to ever be signed there).
7574, the irony of your statement is killing me. at least SOME people have a sense of grammar and sentence structure. Blaze and Burmy: I Hate The Game as well, but i also hate 50. His rhymes are boring and lifeless. HOWEVER, he can make a great song, usually by having a hook that makes you forget about the verses. He flowed pretty average on Curtis, and he's never been a real lyricist in my opinion. I wish they had used the original beat, and i would like to know on what song did this beat originate. I liked Pusha T's verse, Young Buck's was tight, and The Game's two were weaker than those on the original. I give it a 2.
DjSpaz you right. I meant to say that I'm interested more to the beat than to the lyrics, but the beat itself isn't enough. I'm not feeling the overall song here! The beat wasn't bad, but it has no melody, they never sing, I don't understand the words so what am I listening to? In fact I gave it a OK, not trash but not in rotation to me ;)
Game is a smart cat. I have to give him that...he is the king of shout outs, and it has gotten him loads of credibility. The beat was simple, and I love Bun B.
DJ Blaze I don't think 50 could EVER murder the Game in a battle...all of games diss tracks were on point and 300 bars was just sick...personally I think 50 lost his battles against game and jada destroyed him on checkmate, the problem child beat, and Ms. Jackson.
