Following last Friday’s acquittal of the three NYPD officers who fired fatal shots at 23-year-old Sean Bell, an abundance of tribute songs have been created, many of which focus on the injustice of the trial’s outcome. In addition to tracks done by New York rappers Joell Ortiz and Grafh, SoCal representative (and known police antagonist) The Game also provides his opinion on the matter with 911 Is A Joke (Cop Killa). Channeling legendary West Coast group N.W.A., Game offers up a F**k The Police type song that shows the growing distrust the urban community has for law enforcement agencies. 911 Is A Joke (Cop Killa) can be downloaded for free at The Game’s website.

I'd be lying if I said the outcome of the Sean Bell case didn't have me speaking some foul stuff about the cops involved. Keyword INVOLVED. Game took it a little extreme here. He has to recognize unfortunately artists are role models for children these days. He just corrupted the mind of half his fans, I'm sure. I like Game, but he comes off like a hypocrite. The beat is old school which is a plus but, the beat is kind of boring. Lyrically you gotta give it up to Game because as usual, he goes hard as hell!!! I feel the spirit of this song but not the message of killin' cops. If he would have toned down the title and chorus to this song, I think more of the reviews would be singing his praise. Like cali24 said, Game is venting about the crooked cop scene which is rampant in society right now. This is what real hip hop is about...telling people the views and feelings of the streets even if...hold on...especially if it's not politically correct. I feel you Game...singing "We are the World" would be some tickle me Elmo bullshit when cops are killin people and getting away with it on a daily basis. As N.W.A. said...@*#$! tha police!!!!!
