Following last Friday’s acquittal of the three NYPD officers who fired fatal shots at 23-year-old Sean Bell, an abundance of tribute songs have been created, many of which focus on the injustice of the trial’s outcome. In addition to tracks done by New York rappers Joell Ortiz and Grafh, SoCal representative (and known police antagonist) The Game also provides his opinion on the matter with 911 Is A Joke (Cop Killa). Channeling legendary West Coast group N.W.A., Game offers up a F**k The Police type song that shows the growing distrust the urban community has for law enforcement agencies. 911 Is A Joke (Cop Killa) can be downloaded for free at The Game’s website.
Whoa a blast from the past. Did Game really sample 187...I think he did. Game brings the usual heat. I wouldn't bang this through my subs though but I will add this to my ipod. Feeling this song though
im with jesavail02 again on this one..
i dont think this shuld go mainstream this can be on a mixtape maybe?
i dont think rap listeners [now] can handle music like this [compared to the 90s], they might really start trying to kill cops....
If this song is about the guy from New York, the shouldn't it be called Killa Cops?? I see where Game is coming from, but I think he could've taken this idea, and made it a much better song.
well......hmmmm....im feelin games message but this will cause sum controversy. Kill da people dats supposed to be protectin us? hmm. i dont like da cops much but i still dont agree wit dat but da song is tite.
Just to clarify (especially for those who choose to ignore the intro blurb to each song on the site): This is just a mixtape-type song; it will not be on L.A.X., it will not be released mainstream, it will never be sent to radio, and not even Satellite radio will play it. We, however, have chosen to feature it because, well... we can.
Real talk revenge don't do sh*t. Game needs to realize that this sh*t dont help nothin. Cop Killa? Damn, and I was just thinkin Hip Hop was on the right track. I hate most cops too, but this is weak. It's garbage.
dis song is beast nd i understand where hes coming from if you cant trust the people who are supposed to protect you cause ur afraid they mite kill you den who do you believe is gonna protect you in the end
Bet if Pac was on this instead of Game people would be going crazy rating this @*#$! high as hell.
Pac didn't give a @*#$! what people thought. And Game reminds me of him. Who else has the balls to drop a mixtape track like this...not G-Unit thats for sure.
the only reason this song gets a rating from me is cuz u definetely got balls if u gonna make this song. but thats Game 4 u. aint afraid of beef wit nobody whether it be rappers or the media. jesavail02 right tho. media might attack you. might mess up ur record sales 2.
OK
I'm givin this my highest rating so far! Its a banger & id definitely rewind it a few times! I'm all for controversial as its always good to stir things up. BUT...this would belong on a mixtape as it would never make mainstream.
But Game's tellin the truth, I've seen cases where 911 Is A Joke.
Z, I could be completely wrong, but I think I have heard at least a portion of this song on Leo G's BLAZE show (XM/66RAW). Anyways, I haven't really been feeling any of Game's new stuff. This is better than some of the other tracks that have recently surfaced, but I still wouldn't call it great.
boring....and cops aint bad!...it's just if u do bad things u get caught and dats it thery're just try-n to help those around da community...there's no reason 2 b scared or mad at them....so Cop Killa...jeez!!
Y DID HE COME UP WITH BULL SH==T . WORK ON YOUR ALBLUM . I DONT LIKE GAME. HE GOT SKILLS . CANT TAKE THAT AWAY FROM HIM. BUT THIS IS NOT THE JOINT. G-UNIT
I GUESS THAT IS Y 50 LET HIM GO. THIS KINDOVE GARBAGE. HE COME WIT 2 GOOD JOINT THEN COME BACK WIT THIS WACK SH-T . AND I ASK Y GAME . YOU COME WIT THIS .
The sample just ain't working with this and The Game sounds whack here for some reason...he doesn't have his typical sounding hard voice....but the idea and lyrics are strong..
Game!! From one L.A. REP, to another, get some help! You makin enemies in the wrong places. Everybody knows the L.A.P.D. is the biggest most powerful gang in L.A. County. You already got a target on ya back with them mf. With that being said InJustice was deffinatly served in New York. R.I.P to Sean Bell! Murdered 4 nothing. smh On second thought, F the Police!
I'd be lying if I said the outcome of the Sean Bell case didn't have me speaking some foul stuff about the cops involved. Keyword INVOLVED. Game took it a little extreme here. He has to recognize unfortunately artists are role models for children these days. He just corrupted the mind of half his fans, I'm sure. I like Game, but he comes off like a hypocrite. One minute he is changing his ways, the next minute Cop Killa.
i dont like cops either....but this @*#$! was whack...and it was messd up those boys gotta away with filln homeboy with a box full of slugs but i guess situations dictate the outcome..
Game is just venting on this track cus another innocent person was gunned down by the police which has been happening a lot lately. No one should take it literally and like Z said it's not going to be released.Classic Game.
The beat is old school which is a plus but, the beat is kind of boring. Lyrically you gotta give it up to Game because as usual, he goes hard as hell!!! I feel the spirit of this song but not the message of killin' cops. If he would have toned down the title and chorus to this song, I think more of the reviews would be singing his praise. Like cali24 said, Game is venting about the crooked cop scene which is rampant in society right now. This is what real hip hop is about...telling people the views and feelings of the streets even if...hold on...especially if it's not politically correct. I feel you Game...singing "We are the World" would be some tickle me Elmo bullshit when cops are killin people and getting away with it on a daily basis. As N.W.A. said...@*#$! tha police!!!!!
