The Fixxers members AMG and Quik (yes, as in the pioneering West Coast producer DJ Quik) will be the first to tell you not to look for any sort of message in their music; they are pleasure-seekers through and through, limited in their concern to rum and cokes, cutting up rugs, and just kickin’ it AM to AM. After finding commercial success with their breakthrough debut single, Can U Werk Wit Dat, the Interscope signees are back with Worldwide AM, another futuristic party track with an insane Quik beat. While Worldwide AM may provide Fixxers fans with a temporary fix, they should limit their expectations for an outpouring of new music from the duo, however, as the status of their album Midnight Life is up in the air after it unexpectedly leaked to the Internet late last year.
Are you kidding me? This song is about five months old and the project has been scrapped for a while. Thank God because even though this song is alright its definitly not up to par with other Quik and AMG songs.
Call me a Traditionalist but I want The Quiksta to go back to the smooth jazz beats he usta make. I think this stuff is ok, but it ain't him yall , trust me, he's just giving yall what he think ya want. This is one of the greatest hip hop producers on the planet. When hes on his @*#$!, not too many can touch him. Give Me back the Rhythm-Al-Ism @*#$! Quik. We'll love it bra. No more of this kinda tracks. It ain't you.
This was decent. I never heard of these guys. Their style seems eclectic, in a sense of maybe a "Field Mob" or watered down (REALLY WATERED DOWN) Outkast.
DJ Qurlz... did you forget to read? See, here at DJBooth we try to be educational and entertaining. Unlike other sites that just slap up a song for streaming, we offer some insight and information behind the track. For example, your above comment indicates you didn't read the intro paragraph. Please make sure and do so, it will save you from future comment-ridicule. Cheers! (Oh, and this BEAT is SICK. Charlie is right about that!)
Z, I actually did read the comment above and have been following DJ Quik and the Fixxers for some time now. What I had trouble understanding is why this song was just appearing on DJBooth five months after it had been leaked and the project had been scrapped. I have been with DJBooth for a while now and have yet to see an old leaked song appear months after it is irrelevant. As for comment-ridicule I may receive I could care less. Anyways I am a big fan of Quik and his crew , but am not feeling the Dirty West movement they were trying to start with this project. I have to agree with BDF that Quik needs to get back to his roots and put out some more classic material.
Qurlz, I see your point homie and I meant NO disrespect towards you at all. Remember: 99% of music listeners are hearing this song for the first time now. Without a commercial release, physical or digital, non-Fixxers fans wouldn't be checkin' for this. The song was thrown my way and I thought our readers would enjoy another treat from the album; scrapped or not.
