Fun as it may be to do (what currently passes for) the Harlem Shake, idiotic arm-flailing and air-humping isn’t going to help get your partner in the mood. Of course, making romance requires not only the right moves, but an appropriate soundtrack. On his latest single, pop heavyweight The-Dream pleads with the DJ at the local spot: “Enough with the motherf**king dance songs / You’ve gotta Slow It Down.” The Radio Killa leads by example on the production tip, serving up a slow-winding synth beat to back him as he spits game to the shawty whose posterior has been on his mind all evening. NYC vet Fabolous assists on the guest tip, bringing his usual smoothness to the record’s closing verse. Fans will be able to find this sultry selection and much more on Terius Nash’s Fourplay LP, tentatively scheduled to drop May 7. In the meantime, those who haven’t already copped the project can hear more from Dream on the recently-released deluxe edition of 1977.

Bout time Dream returned with a quality single. This should do very well at radio, which only makes sense for the Radio Killa.

Dream's vocals and producing go hand in hand, he can never go wrong getting Fabolous on the track

As a huge fan this isn't the greatest he's done, but it's a nice upbeat track that will surely get some attention. I'm glad to see good reception on here, sometimes there's nothing but hate for his music.

Interesting concept. It's clear how irrelevant contemporary R&B has become. All the artists that were smashing the R&B game in the 00's are either making 128bpm club tracks or nowhere to be found. Imagine hearing Ne-Yo's 'So Sick' or Mario's 'Let Me Love You' on top 40 radio if it were released today. It wouldn't happen.
Besides the concept, it's not that exciting of a record. Maybe that's the problem. The beat is like a carbon copy of Dream's old singles. Fabolous added a decent verse but overall it's quite underwhelming. I agree with djblaze, ladies will like this. |

Dream knows what he does works. And he doesn't deviate from that.

I don't know why the Dream is slept on as a solo artist because he does well here (producing and featuring on the track).
