When our own Nathan S. reviewed The-Dream‘s debut album, Love/Hate, in December of ‘07, he described the singer/songwriter/producer as Prince, R. Kelly, and T-Pain rolled into one artist, and this brand new record off the follow-up, Love vs. Money, sees him wearing the Purple One’s influence on his sleeve. As usual, Dream is out at the club with his eye on a special lady, but this time around, he can’t tell exactly what it is about her that has him Walking On The Moon. Kanye West chips in with a Stronger-esque (and Autotune-free) verse, but the futuristic co-production by West and LOS Da Maestro is what will launch it to the top of the charts – if the Radio Killa/Def Jam brass decide to make it a single, that is. For more out-of-this-world sounds, pick up a copy of Love vs. Money, due out in stores and online March 10.

I love the electric futuristic sound on this one the production is really creative! The Dream did solid and Kanye killed the beat. This song is pretty hot!

I heard Dream say this song will be a greater hit than Umbrella...although i cant really see that happening, this has massive potential. Standard The-Dream fare..dude is incredible, always coming out his ass with something fresh. Good to see 'Ye ditching the Autotune for once...Banger!

The production is pretty fresh, but its a lil too clubby for me. The Dream is pretty average, as usual. Kanye is a nice change of pace at the end, but nuttin too special. The hook is definitely not catchy enough to become as popular as "umbrella ella ella" but its cool. Good enough for rotation...

You know it! If people didn't notice, Ye was on the autotune on another track with T-Pain that came out this week as well. He was on the hook and sounded great and still rapped a verse and beasted it. (Yes, I said beasted. It's a new word. Webster, get cracking with that publishing!...lol) This definitely is that Michael Jackson vibe (Off the Wall/Thriller vibe, my two favorite albums of all time BTW) and that whole 80s Pop swagger and I so definitely co-sign this! This style is like all I wanna hear this year. LOL! I want the 80s back! Music just seemed so fun!
This also is like the first Dream song I actually like. Kanye has been a beast with the rapping. It's like idiot people were sleeping and forgot this man was the best rapper in the game and he jyuust decided to try something new for a little bit. Everybody got all comfortable as if Ye was gone (from rapping, etc). WELL, WAKE UP PEOPLES! The dude never left and I think '09 is finna be a big year for him and G.O.O.D Music. He can't leave, cuz music needs him right now. Ya dig?! |

Yea, MH, that 'Flight School' track is flame. This is in another category though. Dream and Yeezy get it done together, pure hits. (another ex: Digital Girl) When Kanye spits nobody can touch him in my opinion.

It seems that Ye can match up with anybody theses days and make it into a decent track. I first heard this about a day ago on Ye's blog when he put it up with "Flight School" as MH mentioned above. This is was the better of the two in my opinion. But Ye did say that "Flight School" was going to be on the new GLC album which made no sense seeing as GLC is an artist and I don't think Kanye would name an album of his off an artist that he did two songs with earlier in his career. Can anybody shed some light on this for me or are you just as confused. As for "Walking on the Moon"...this is a great track. Classic production from Mr. West, and great vocals and verse by Dream and Ye. For some reason, this song isn't perfect. I give is a 4.5 near classic.

The-Dream and West have discussed doing a joint project together... WALKING ON THE MOON is the reason why I would greatly look forward to such collaboration.
... oh, and if they make this a single, I really am hoping for Prince and MJ to make video cameos.

the production for this song is really good but i dont really LOVING this type of future-esque beat but at the same time im not minding it....i dont like it with The Dream singing to it because his songs are a little bit slower and that style of music suits him REALLY well, which is why he's doing really well in today's R&B world...kanye did really well so this is well worth the 4 stars im giving it

The dream definetely has something special about him. He always to seem to come out with something fresh and worth listening to plenty of times. This is a very good song, Mr. West did his thing and the Dream has amazing vocals with the auto-tune. Its about time someone besides T-pain, Lil Wayne, and Ron Browz to use the auto-tune correctly, because lately its been a buch of garbage.

Ahhhh... This is HOTTTT! When I heard this the other day I was like "Daym! This is mad. Sick 80's vibe with hip-hop, The Dream's vocals and a sick Kanye Verse. What could be hotter!?" Well, I haven't found that answer yet, and I might struggle coz this is fresh. Gonna get this album without a doubt. NOW I DONT KNOW WHO COPIED WHO! BUT the beginning of this track is pretty much the exact same as the beginning of Classifieds track Anybody Listening - Now Classified doesn't get much attention cause he's from Scotia but his tracks been out for much longer but if Dream jacked the intro he needs to pay respect to the people he stole it from.

Gotta agree with donjonjon and some others, I see The-Dream as very overrated, but he's doing what he does here. The production is similar to what he did on Love/Hate, which I wasn't as impressed by as others. Radio will definitely eat this up, because the melody is really catchy. Typical Dream, but a radio hit nonetheless.

Yo, DJ Z, when I first heard this song, the first two people I actually thought of were Prince and MJ lol. But this song is fire. First off...the song is crazy! I love it. I'll be grooving to this.
On another note...I HIGHLY recommend he fire whoever directed the video! That is by far the worst video I've ever seen. It lacks the old school flare of Snoop's Sexual Eruption and falls in the corny bin. |

EVERYthing he comes out with, i fall in love with.. the dream is the shet and i'm so jealous of christina millian, but as for kanye? [tsk, tsk, tsk] how sad on what happened at the VMA's this past weekend. omg, what he did was SO wrong. he had no right, and poor taylor, i dunno what i woulda done. well before, i didnt hate kanye, he was cool, i actually did like him, but now? wow. i saw a differnet side of him, and that changed things for me. but all in all, this song is great and i jam to it all the time, love it. :) |
