Rockin’ That Thang, the second single off The-Dream‘s forthcoming sophomore album, has enjoyed a spot on our Top R&B Chart ever since we featured it on November 25th, ‘08. Seeing the record’s success, Brooklyn heavyweight Fabolous has jumped on its explicit version to create an unofficial remix with plenty of crossover appeal. Retaining C. Tricky Stewart and The-Dream‘s synth-laced production from the original, Fabo adds a new opening verse that, in keeping with the song’s theme, sees him sipping on cognac, mesmerized by the dance moves of one special shorty. It’s been quite a while (over a year, actually), since we’ve featured a record with Fabolous as the main artist, but that may change soon; his fifth album, Loso’s Way, is coming sometime in March. Dream’s Love vs. Money will be in listeners’ hands on the third of the same month.

This sounds more like a freestyle from Fab just mixed in with the original. Still, like to see them collabin again and Fab always brings an addicting flow to these tracks.

It does sort of sound like a freestyle over the original... Fab's flow sounds pretty good over this production. I think I like this better than the original! Fab pushed this joint into rotation for me.

This is good, Fab seems to of nailed this romantic gentleman style down pact (he's the more radio freindly version of Plies imo). These two have got to be thinking of a collaborative album, i know ill probably buy it.
Better then the original, though i agree with the 2 above me that it sounds like a Fab freestyle has been inserted over the beat |

Fab comes hard as usual his lyrics fit perfect for the beat! I gave the original a 4 but I cant find enough justification to give this a classic even though Fab was dope on this. Hot song though

There is a reason that Fab sounds like he is just freestyling over the beat... its because he is! Thus, the reason for labeling this feature as an "unofficial remix". Fab was meant to be apart of poppy, syrupy records like this. Looking forward to albums from both of these gentlemen.

original was a 4, Fab makes it better, but still a 4. If it wasn't a freestyle, then maybe a 5 cuz Fab would of done better if it wasnt a freestyle.

This joint was okay, and the production was straight, but it definitely didn't keep my interest. I guess it just wasn't my type of joint. I'm not a big fan of "The Dream" anyways.

Does not matter to me that he is freestyling on the beat with lyrics like "I'm sick with the money I can cough a stack." That right there makes this song an easy track to put in rotation.

Producing your own ish, definately gives you homefield advantage. The Dream and Fabo? It's a must hear....Fabo's flow is simple, but this is a track for the ladies, so the simple flow works here. Of course he can come hard, but we don't need him to. This song was already hot w/o Fabo on it. I wish he'd have remixed it for real - a new beat/melody.

Fab effed this one up. I'm swaying back and forth to it, but not feeling like it I feel it as soon as The Dream comes in with the original-ish material. It's OK though. |
