Previously released for free digital download back in September of 2011, The-Dream‘s 1977 LP was such a hit that Def Jam‘s decided to re-release it in an expanded retail edition. Newly-added for this version of the project, new single AK47 finds Terius Nash ruefully addressing a shorty whose knack for shooting suitors down rivals the destructive capabilities of the titular firearm. Dream backs his vocals with some characteristically killer boardwork, overlaying sporadic kick rhythm with insistent hi-hats and coruscating synths. Like what your’re hearing? This wounded banger is just one of several fresh cuts added for the latest incarnation of 1977, scheduled to hit record stores and online retailers December 18.

This is the hottest Dream track I've heard in a minute. I'm feelin his flow on this beat and he did good work on the production-side too. I'll add this to the R&B folder...

The dream's voice alone is amazing but this track didn't do it any justice. His voice sounds like it has been messed with.. and he doesn't need any type of auto tune. The beat had potential but it was a little too much

Decent track from The Dream. More used to his falsetto singing, but this one doesn't bad. Decent beat too.

Dream did a really great job with this one. Was worried he might have been losing grip, but he bounced back and dropped a banger. Definitely see myself listening to this in the future. Looking forward to 1977.
