Ever since they made a guest appearance on Paula DeAnda‘s Walk Away, The DEY has been known to cater to a lovestruck, emotional demographic. Following the previously released Give You the World and I Need You, singer Elan and rappers Divine and Yeyo, lament the breakup of their individual relationships, all hoping that their respective lost loves are listening when they say “And I Miss You.” By interpolating Bobby Glenn‘s Sounds Like A Love Song (also used in Jay-Z‘s Song Cry), producer Havoc creates an ambiance that caters to the predominantly female radio requesting crowd. And I Miss You is the third potential lead single from The DEY’s debut album, The DEY Has Come, currently set to drop later this summer.

This is the new Black Eyed Peas...Who used this beat? I know a rap group in the mid-90's used this. This is a quality group with a bright future.

That would happen to be the single "Mass Appeal" performed by Gangstarr. Kudos to The D.E.Y. for incorporating a 90's hip hop throwback for this song. I wonder what it would be like if Guru and DJ Premier were to do a remix of this.

jesavail02 it was Gang Starr classic joint Mass Appeal that was sampled. The DEY came right with this track, now all they need is some marketing.

I'm really starting to like the DEY. They are very mainstream, but their beats and harmonization really works. Plus I enjoy the sampling that they do.

The DEY’s songs sound like good collaborations by solid solo artists, so their music always comes complete! Give them good production like in this case (love that hypnotizing repeating sound in the background from “Mass Appeal”), and it’s a sure thing! Yes, they may be the best group in the absence of BEP: catchy melodies, good raping, relating lyrics … although they have different styles, I’d say the DEY have a better singer! I give this 5* cuz I don’t feel it’s missing anything!
PS: The chorus has the same lyrics as a 90’s song by “Everything but the girl” and so does the melody sound similar in that part. |

WOW:), I aint a fan of this comment style of yours either! If you can’t tell why you don’t like it, don’t rate it! (Note: it’s not your opinion I don’t like, it’s the absence of it: you didn’t let us know your opinion, just the rating! So don’t come sayin you can like what you want, cuz you sure can!)
PS: The song you’re talking about MATTHEW is “Missing”, by the band I mentioned above! |

This is FIRE! Hot as it needs to be. Deffinatly a hit. Mami sounds great. Production is crisp and the hook is fire! Thinks Fredrico I'll be findin that track as we speak. i'm feelin this all the way around. My only thing about it is the rapper at the end, not really feelin his sound. I woulda liked to have heard Fabolous on this. sounds like his kinda joint.

Ok I know you guys like this song a lot and everything but theres this song by them called Get The Feeling witch is a lot hotter then this to me. Again I heard the song on NBA Live 08 a game I got for the XBox 360 and the song is hot. It has a really baning beat and it sounds good. Its a club type song. Again if you never heard it Try to find it by downloading it or get it off I Tunes because the song is hot.

When I saw the title, I was hoping it was like a cover/interpolation! I am glad it was. I look forward to the retro remakes from The D.E.Y every since "Give You The World". This production is awesome, the engineering is on point and all the artists are sincerely on their game. I haven't felt as excited about a trio group of rappers and singers like this since City High. Although they aren't them at all, I'd say they are pretty refreshing. With more joints like this, I'm actually looking forward to their album. Oh, and no wonder I like the production so much. It reminds me of the 90s. Ahhh....the 90s.

Before listening to the song you suggested Matthew, I already knew what I would find: a song that is “better” because the beat is banging! Why do you guys tend to consider a song better than others only because you may hear it in the disco! Come on man, it’s such an unfair and misleading evaluation system, you know better than that (I don’t mean no disrespect)! I LIKED Get the feeling (thanx), but I don’t think it’s better than this one (the girl only sings the chorus, that’s a minus).

This isn't my type of song, but it's very well-done! The beat is slow but not too slow, of those who make you sleep to be clear, the singer has a wonderful voice (reminds me of someone else but I can't remember who, my opinion is that female voices are often similar to each other, like those of male r&b singers) and they can rap! Don't u remember that the sentence "I miss you like desert misses rain"? was already used by Everything But The Girl, that dance duo who became famous in early 90s? The song title was Missing ;)

If you like this song, support it when you hear it begin to play at radio. Everything the DEY has released to radio has been GREAT, but nobody has jumped on board. If you enjoy diverse, new music... this is it. Hit record.

They DEY has a lot of hits in them, and this is one of them. " The DEY’s songs sound like good collaborations by solid solo artists, so their music always comes complete!" (FredRico)I know exactly what you mean! I personally liked TONE's comparison... "The D.E.Y. = The Black Eye Peas meet Destiny's Child." Haha. So far DEY has released some overall dope tracks, but they have yet to really breach the radios, as Z said. Hopefully this will be their track..

Yeah FredRico I am knda one sided when it comes to music I think the better the beat is most of the time the better it is to me but everybody has different music tastes. I know my is way off sometimes because there are songs with lame beats to me that are really big on the radio. Like one song example that I used in another comment is Me & U be Cassie. Again the beat was really lame on that song to me but people requested for that song listening to radio countdowns and it got played through the roof in 2006. Again I thought that song was crap.

Uhmm, you’ve been a little too susceptible lately, huh WOW:)? I was just being honest and down to earth: the (main) purpose of this comment board is to share opinions and give the artists feedback on their efforts. But I don’t despise your input; you always get me on my nerves :p but I still like U and hope to see U change you tastes for the best! Maybe in 5 years or so… lol Believe me, it’ll happen! ;)

patty, the girl you were thinking of was paula deanda (whom the Dey replaced in the video version of sean kingston's "there's nothin"). i like this song, except the last rap verse sounds a little off. I can't wait for The Dey Has Come because finally we have a mainstream group with a sense of soul and flow. and fredrico, sometimes when you listen to a song, you don't really hear it like you normally do, and the only thing left in your head is the beat, so the beat can have a much longer-lasting impression on some people than lyrics and flow and such do for other people. just a thought.
