Sharp and bitter where their peers are sweet and tart, the cranberry is the definition of an acquired taste; once you’ve accustomed yourself to the flavor, however, there’s nothing that hits the spot quite like a spoonful of cranberry sauce with your Thanksgiving turkey, or a tall glass of Ocean Spray. Similarly, while The Cranberry Show are a little, well, different from your average rap crew, those who give inaugural mixtape leak Traffic Lights (making its world premiere in the Booth!) a spin are likely to find their left-of-center style uniquely addicting. Here, The Smash Boiz’ brooding string/piano loops and ghostly backing vocals are the canvas on which Booth newcomers Young Focus and Arcane paint a portrait of lyrical excellence. In braggadociously laid-back bars, the Milwaukee natives show and tell exactly what set them apart from the pack, exhibiting a brainy rhyme style that makes the competition look like cavemen: “My mind is so advanced it’s wearing pants, while theirs is still stuck in that Neanderthal stance.” Interest piqued? Welcome to the Booth, The Cranberry Show. Nice introductory premiere to our readers. Catchy chorus is enhanced by a very spacey, atmospheric beat. Solid.
For those curious, I'm also a fan of cranberry bread on Thanksgiving.

I can't stand Cranberries in any shape form or fashion, but The Cranberry Show is another story. Nice flow and nice beat by The Smash Boiz. This is good work. I like the strings in the beat. I was interested throughout the track. Good Flows and chorus.

Very interesting. It reminded me a little bit of something we would hear from Novel. I really really enjoyed it. His flow and voice really grab you and I love his cadence. Great introduction, I know ill be looking out for more.

Super refreshing.
If the whole mixtape is this good, this music will change the world...it could end world hunger, bring back unicorns, or even lead to the eradication of venereal diseases. Overexcited, and will for sure be back for more. If I was a virgin, I'd definitely give it up to this song. |
