In the last year or so, Smokey Robotic have established themselves as the DJBooth’s foremost purveyors of crazy-ass visuals—if you don’t believe me, check out the nightmarish, bunny suit/melting ice cream themed video for mixtape title track The Shark and the Helicopter. If the latest collaboration between Portland crew The Chicharones and director Stuey Kubrick is any indication, however, it seems that they may have found some competition. A Booth-exclusive world premiere, the official video accompaniment to album standout Eggshells finds Kubrick paying homage to his cinematic namesake, combining imagery from 2001 with a few new themes—namely sexy stewardesses, pig masks, and lots of eggs. And the song? While only tenuously tied to the onscreen action, it’s pretty damn dope, boasting a off-kilter, synth-driven instrumental by Smoke of Oldominion and free-associative sung/rapped bars from partners-in-rhyme Josh Martinez and Sleep. Interest piqued? You can hear more from the duo on their brand new Swine Flew LP, released today to iTunes and available for free streaming via Soundcloud.

This is very hard to describe. Its funky, off the wall, lots of fun, and also, at times, awkward. Makes for a quality view and a better listen.

OMG! I LOVEEEE The Chicharones!!! 'Fiesta' is one of my favorite songs and I'm so glad they have some new music out! Chicharones has such a unique sound and the artists are amazing!

This video is incredible, as are the CHICHIS!!! Northwest's own baby! ON the Warped Tour all summer pushing good music on the sly. And Sapient's singing the hook? JAAAAM.

These boys are concept rappers. I've shared the stage with em a couple times. Love their work. This beat is niiiiicceee.... Gotta appreciate the flow and approach with with an objective perspective

Chicharones, you never cease to amaze me! I love this and i think everyone else agrees. Great production! Kinda silly but still artistic. DjBlaze I don't know whhere your comin from on this... are you one of those guys that only likes blockbuster and action movies?
