The Black Sunn & 810 - DMV (Everyone Knows)
Artist: The Black Sunn & 810
Featuring: The Black Sunn , 810
Producer: Mydus
Album: United Division
Label: Unsigned
Last we heard from The Black Sunn, the underground luminary was expressing his lasting love for the music on Hip-Hop’s Lament – a cut which, despite the the title, was decidedly optimistic in tone. A few months shy of a year later, he’s rejoined forces with B-more compatriot 810 (himself not featured since last June’s Sunn-assisted Mr. Goodbar (2010)) to accentuate the positive once again. On DMV (Everyone Knows), making its world premiere in the Booth, beatsmith Mydus flips a radiant soul sample as the duo (both freestyle series alumni) preach a message of peace and unity against those who’d rather sow the seeds of discord than give Charm City its proper respect. The conciliatory message, of course, doesn’t stop them delivering lyrical flames – on the contrary, their verses come packed with blistering turns of phrase (“While you’re acting loyalist with your royal fist, n*ggas pullin’ triggers soakin’ blood in the soil.”) and allusive one-liners. Craving more? You’re in luck: DMV is just the beginning of the freshness in store on 810 and Sunn’s forthcoming, Booth-sponsored United Division EP, set to hit our mixtape page in late summer.

Yes! Gotta love 810. Been waiting months and months for new material from this guy and the wait was worth it. Black Sunn supplies a good hook and verse. Together these two make for a really great team.

I agree, RyanSx. Individually, both are solid, but together they are pretty dynamic. The DMV has a wealth of young talent and these two are amongst that growing crowd.

Great to see DMV talent in abundance among the Booth. These guys have caught my ear w/ a message that needs to be heard within the DMV community. It's good to hear from B-More artists normally it's just DC and VA out there musically.

810? Man brings me back to when he dropped 'Issues'. This duo works for me, production nice and chilled so that you can really focus on their wordplay.
