I played my share of NES as a youngster, but evidently not as much as The Benchwarmers Clique. On the South Floridian crew’s latest single and first Booth feature, UK producer Jewbei‘s authentic 8-bit boardwork sets the mood as emcees Joka Wild and Travisty the Lazy MC play a little Robocop (Yes, there was a Robocop game on NES—the more you know!). Melodik assists, accompanying the headliners on the record’s hook.  Love the cover art. The tracks pretty good too. Video game beats can sound corny, but this one works.

As a Die Hard Hip Hop Head from the South Florida area, I can attest to the Hard Work and Quality of Hop these dudes put out. The Bench throw some of the Livest, Crowd Moving shows in So.Flo., and there on stage/ studio chemestry as a duo is un-matched. We've heard some pretty exciting things about their upcoming Adventures in 8 Bit release, and I suggest yall be on the look out. These boys rep that smooth, ill flow / dope lyrics hop that has been slowly overshadowed by the swaggy pants movement...but they def have not forgotten their roots...as you can tell by the throw back theme of their album.

Ever since I heard this track my life changed...forever. I went to Party City and bought the same Robocop Disguise. I went out in the uniform with speakers built into my utility belt to walk my beat in style at night. I got beat up worse than Joka looked rockin the suit, but even the villains said they would find the Benchwarmers Clique and click Like so it wasn't all bad. Thats when it got crazy....all of a sudden from the darkness emerged a Beat Samurai named Jewbei who deftly cut through the first assailant without a word, smooth as silk. Then I heard a laugh like glass grinding across a chalkboard and it was Joka. I started to stand up and just as 2nd thug was about strike me back down, I saw three Robocop cartridges fly in succession breaking bones wherever they landed. The third goon took off running and thats when I noticed the Lazy Mc...a towering giant, but he was sitting on an old rusting Bench as if nothing had happened...I boldly asked "Are you just going to let him get away?" From within the grey cloud that sprung around him spoke a voice..."Let him bring the message to the masses...The Bench Warmers are Back..." I looked back at the thug running off into the night and when I turned back to say my thanks...they had vanished as well...the only thing to mark their passing at all was the trail of the track that changed everything....
