While Portsmouth (Timbo, Missy), Hampton Roads (Pharrell, Clipse), Petersburg (Trey Songz) and even the small town of Tappahannock (Chris Brown) have given Virginia hip-hop and R&B noteriety, the city of Alexandria hasn’t yet found nationwide fame. Underground emcee Thad Reid is hoping to change that, though. Previously featured on the Booth with Can’t Live Without You, the self-proclaimed ‘Voice of the Commonwealth’ is now Cruzin’ in his car, driving 10 miles per hour so he can get a good look at everything along the way. Right behind him is reggae hookman Akshan (see Sketch‘s Hi Hata), who seems ready to snag a few females over Ologist‘s laid-back beat. For every whip banger, there needs to be a slow-driving song; let’s just say that Thad Reid has evened things out.
The hook and production is way too smooth baby! Thad's flow is pretty fresh. It's a little cheesy as well though. This reminds me of something that would've made it on Skillz' album. Thad's has an interesting vibe and has a voice similar to someone...I just can't put my finger on who it is at the moment. I'll throw this in rotation though. This is fresh! Matter of fact...I any finna be stingy....this bangs. 4 stars.
Sounds like Madd CJ Mack to me (WEST COAST Artist) I like this though, you can tell he put some effort in to it, Won't get a lot of Radio play, Wont be a club banger, But it is worthey of LISTENING to.
this is slightly muffled. But if mixed right deffinaltly has potential. I like this beat. This is my flava all the way. Laid back ride music. Which reminds me. R.I.P. To Andre Young Jr. For yall who havn't heard The Great D.R.E.'s son was reported dead this morning. You know we love you Dre, during this tough time I hope that you and your family can find peace in his memory.
Smooth beat, feeling the flow a bit. Will probably fade to the back of our mind's eventally. I'm will agree with michaelhannah again with the "cheesy" part. It will definitely be in rotation, 3 stars~(**)~
Thad is one of the Booth's favorite up-n-coming artists. Everything this man has sent us, we've enjoyed. Obviously, this is no exception. Real smooth, laid back and a good listen. Keep it up.
