When you love music as much as West Coast producer Terrace Martin does, then a decade worth of hard work is nothing. In fact, as time has gone by, this producer/saxophonist/television/film scorer/songwriter has done just that. After a stellar showing on Snoop Dogg’s Rhythm & Gangsta album, Martin goes for dolo with The Interview. Over a signature ‘Best Coast’ beat, Terrace and his featured guests, Problem and Mykestro, mark their introduction into the industry that they love so passionately. The only real “problem” with this interview, however, is that the trio of hip-hoppers only go in on a few bars, failing to allow themselves enough room to be creative and add something to the track. As the spotlight begins to shine brighter on Martin, DJBooth looks forward to hearing more from this behind-the-scenes star.
Clean this beat up yall. This is much better than I thought by lookin at the reviews. Then again this is what I expect from that1kid13 and wow:) they just don't seem to like the music I dig most the time. This is flavaful on production.
Well, the track is unreleased for a reason... BUT... its purpose is to expose a unique new sound and the production skills of Mr. Martin. Just wait... this is a sampling, not a full meal.
BDF44 everyone have their tastes nothing to say, but how can u like this? U like weird music sometimes lol! The production on here is decent but they are annoying please. I don't say they aren't able to rap, but their flow doesn't fit the production! The result is something not harmonious at all.
If you want to hear some more from Terrace Martin, then check out "Bounce, Rock, Skate". Song has been out for couple months now, but I noticed it was a song that the booth didn't bring out when it came out. Either way. This boy is tight. The beat is westcoast and smooth. The lyrics are alright. So honestly this track is just average.
