Terrace Martin - The Demo
Artist: Terrace Martin
Featuring: Wiz Khalifa , Kurupt , Bad Lucc
Producer: Terrace Martin
Album: The Demo Preview
Label: AKAI Music
Been jonesing for a new online series to keep tabs on? Beatsmith Terrace Martin‘s got you covered like bedsheets – to build anticipation of the 2010 release of his forthcoming The Demo LP, the West Coast mainstay’s kicked off a weekly series entitled The Demo Preview, beginning with a brand new cut called… wait for it… The Demo. The title is the only predictable element of this track, which sees Martin serving up an exultant blend of synth fanfare and hard-hitting percussion as his collaborators fire off their highest-caliber lyrical ammunition. Watts City rapper Bad Lucc and recent Booth interview-ee Wiz Khalifa head off the pack, the latter lacing the track with creatively-rhymed lines like, “[If you] think too small I get my ant-eat on/ and make sure all of the food in the pantry’s gone.” Jamaican femcee Lady G steps up to the mic third, delivering her opening bars a cappella, and Cali icon Kurupt jumps on board to end the track on an aggressive note. The headliner, however, says it best: “It’s just hip-hop.” If you like what you’re hearing, keep it locked to the Booth for future entries in Terrace Martin’s weekly series.

whoever started the song off could have came harder. so could wiz and kurupt. Lady G was pretty sweet and the highlight in my opinion.

Terrace is a very underrated producer, but Wiz Khalifa stole the show here. In fact, I like Wiz' flow and bars better here than in any of his most recent features.
At 6 minutes this one ran a little long for my taste, but all the emcees on the track make their contributions their own. I look forward to more 'demo' releases... |

Gotta agree that Terrence is an underrated producer... He just gets how to make solid tracks like "Bounce, Rock, Skate" (my personal fav)

Definitely respect anyone who raps and produces. Terrace had some decent lines in there. Wiz was real tight on here and Kurupt and Lady G had respectable appearances as well.

Yo Z, I agree completely. I liked Wiz' flow here much better than on "Goodbye", where it sounded like he was forcing it to me. Great production, tight emcees, this track's on rotation for sure.

Creeping synthesizers packed with hard-hitting drums, simply put, production slaps! Terrace Martin can do no wrong by me.
Entertaining verses from everyone involved. Wiz and Lady G drops some nice wordplay, and Bad Lucc & Kurupt's aggressive deliveries pairs well with beat. Rotation fa sho! |

Dis song is not bad. The production from Terrance Martin might been the best part of the song. However, dis nigga Wiz came in n spit solid bars, along wit Lady G. But, Kurupt is all voice n no bars
