This summer, Queens trio Team Blackout (which includes Rev Run‘s son, JoJo Simmons) will make their name known in the club. The only favor that they ask in return is that – true to their name – the club turns the Lights Down Low when the beat drops. Given the group’s fresh lyricism and the minimalist East Coast beat of longtime heavyweight Rockwilder (along with Chris N Teeb), Lights Down Low could quickly become a club DJ favorite. On August 19, Team Blackout will shut the Lights Off and give listeners more music to make them get up and dance.
Thats Rev. Run son in the middle. I'm surprise they didn't say that in the description. I like the beat though..... They need someone to feeature on it give it some umph.....
I find it amusing how these dudes always get their time on "Run's House." Promotion much? They should brush up their skills first before going on national TV.
They did Ms_Fee! don't worry though, I'm guilty of not readin those things all the time. This ain't horrible. Not my style, but after some patron shots I can see myself in the club doin a dance ta this. Not quite on a Run DMC level lol but you know, these 3 cats can make some noise with the right backing.
This beat is real cool, except it should have been able to bang a little harder. But these guys are generic and cheesy. JoJo is a spolied shame to his father's rap pioneer history.
Strange, I agree with you michael! The beat is really cool but I don't like them...a good beat isn't enough for a song to be good! Sometimes it happens, but not in this case...if I heard this on radio I would listen to it coz it makes me dance, but in my mp3 player it would be extremely annoying
The jury is still out on these guys. The beat is sick, but I don't know if I am truly feeling what they are saying or even how they are saying it. But, since this is geared towards the club and nobody cares what they're saying when music is played in the club... I'd spin this in a set.
well pattypatt im jus gonna say something here. ".if I heard this on radio I would listen to it coz it makes me dance" hmmmm. thats all this song is supposed to make you do. its not supposed to be a lyrical song so wit that being said you dancin to it would have fit in perfect for what they were tryin to do here.
Yea this is pretty hot. I could see this in the clubs. The only thing lacking in this is a better lyrical flow. Besides that its different, nice beat, good hook. Its hot
