No, Teairra Mari hasn’t joined a 12-step program, nor is she walking/biking to raise money for disease sufferers. On her latest single, the singer’s looking for the kind of Sponsor with the money to treat her to everything her heart desires – and, hopefully, enough star power to help get her long-delayed At That Point LP onto store shelves. As it turns out, not one but two famous fellas are itching to become the former Roc Princess’ sugar daddy: hip-popster Soulja Boy and – surprise, surprise – Gucci Mane step up to the mic to spit guest bars over Zeke‘s staccato-synth boardwork. Gucci makes a convincing case, plying the headliner with promises of exotic vacations (“No my name ain’t Gilligan, but let’s go to an island.”), and Soulja Boy takes a similar tack on the back end, tempting Mari with shopping sprees and expensive dinners. Having suffered several pushbacks, At That Point is currently scheduled to drop in early 2010. Will this pop-appealing single be the one that gets Warner Bros. to issue a release date that sticks? Will Gucci Mane’s vocal chords survive his ongoing guest-verse binge? For the moment, we can only speculate…

I actually didnt mind Gucci's verse on this & soulja boy is tryin to improve his lyrics, which is a good thing. Teairra Mari is also pretty good though the beat is the highlight (great production from Zeke).
Im shocked that im rating this a 4, considering im not a fan of any of these artist, though they all did there thing on this track |

Gucci has SERIOUSLY grown on me during this past year. I really respect what dude is doin and I respect his super-laid back lyrics. As to how he made it in the top 10 on MTV over Eminem is beyond me, but all in all he does his thing on this track. I've never hated on Soulja boy because the youngins are doing big things in the game right now. Soulja was cool on here. Teairra Mari was only OK. I think almost any top 10 R&B chick could have pulled this off. Overall a Good track, but not Great.

Putting Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy on your tracks downgrades the song and only hurts your career in a long-run. Simple as that.
And Teairra Mari is far from being my favorite artist, so I can't overlook "them" features. Though the joint has a fresh take/theme on and bouncy tune which might make this get some moderate spins at the club. Okay at very best. And oh! how can I forget, having Gucci on your track gives me the freedom to go all out ignorant in comments section. So here it is ... I wonder who's her "Sponsor" is. The one she slept with to get signed and put money into her. So at least she is singing about what she believes in. |

I like Teairra's sound, very pretty voice on her. Problem with puttin Gucci on your track is it automatically takes the spotlight off you, either goes to if you hate em or love em.

Pretty catchy, I suppose. But the Gucci craze is a bit annoying. A handful of other rappers could do better on the tracks hes featured on...and he tends to just repeat his name and make strange sounds in the background. Okay song, Soulja Boy was average, above average for his standards. But their deliveries were weak and boring.

Anyway on to the song.... well the beat is radio ready but idk about the features or even the auto-tune assisted Teairra Mari!! Seriously why are all these artist getting Gucci as a features when there's a hundred better artist who can completely destroy this beat!! I actually prefer to listen to Soulja Boy than Gucci and i'm not a huge Soulja Boy fan either!! And don't get me started on the MTV Top 10!! It's mostly MTV's fault people even listen to gucci when it's them telling all the kids what to listen to!!!! Could of been a banger but Gucci dumbs it down....AGAIN!!!! |
