Beer goggles (or Patron goggles, as the case may be) aren’t just for the fellas – on her latest buzz single and first Booth feature, rising R&B starlet Tayma Loren confesses that, when she’s Tipsy, every guy looks like a baller. Backed by the woozy, synth-drenched production of Los da Mystro, the Detroit singer recounts how too many shots of top-shelf liquor resulted in a regrettable tryst. Bravely, co-writer The-Dream (who just took home an ‘09 Best of the Booth award for Rockin’ That Thang (Remix) ) steps into the shoes of the fella in question – who, as it turns out, isn’t any more impressed with his drunken decisions than Loren. He even goes so far as to hypothesize that, “Shorty must have put something up in my cup/ ‘cause it’s eight ‘o’ clock and I’m still f*cked up.” This intoxicating promo cut isn’t set to appear on any forthcoming project, but those who like what they’re hearing can keep it locked for all the latest from Tayma Loren.

I used to think Tricky and The Dream were the same person... One was the artist and the other name was for producing lol. I like her voice but that overused production drops it half a star. 2.5

excited to hear from Dream. it has been a while. i kno this sounds kinda gay, (i hope i didnt offend anyone) but i love listenin to this dudes voice. Tayma Loren sounded ight too, but was easily overshadowed by Dream. good intro for her to the booth.

That piano line sounds almost the exact match as Fab's throw it in the bag track!! Or is it just me?? The-Dream always does good.... First time hearing Tayma and her voice sounds good....nothing spectacular though.... |

This is now my favorite song named Tipsy (sorry J-Kwon).
And I have to agree with @LeWy, the beat is only a few shades different than Throw It In the Bag, but this is the first time I've heard Tayma (She sounds a little like Ashanti to me), and I'm loving her style. I'll have to wait to hear her on a non-Dream track, his style's all over this one, but so far so good.

as genius as the dream and tricky are, a lot of thier production is too similar for my taste (the same can be said for polow da don IMO). She sounds ok as a vocalist but i think i just have high standards, so she's just alright to me. OK track overall...

Seriously what is with all these "Classic" ratings, are you kidding me!? I feel like sometimes people get paid $$ to put that up.
She looks better then she signs, vocals were fine, but nothing spectacular. The Dream was ALL OVER this, hard to really concentrate on anything else. Rotation, but not for too long. -- back to my rant, stop artificially inflating the ratings! |
