To help pacify anxious fans counting down the days until Tank releases his debut album on Atlantic Records, Now or Never, the smooth voiced r&b veteran Tank has released his second single Emergency, a follow up to previous effort Sex Music. Tailor made to fulfill our need for some classically oriented r&b grooves, Emergency combines a nice piano riff and laid back yet head bobbing drum pattern, perfect for setting the mood with that right person, or just relaxing after a long stressful day at work. Tank, as always, comes in with his trademark combination of downy vocals and power that have kept him on top in an industry where many struggle to stick around after one album. Although I personally feel Tank could have come in a little stronger vocally, the melody is catchy, the mood is right and over all this feels like a very solid selection for a second single. Does anyone disagree? We can expect much more quality r&b from Tank (perhaps including a recently leaked record with Drake) before his upcoming album, the aforementioned Now or Never, hits stores and online outlets December 14.

It is indeed, as Tank suggests, an "Emergency" - there are very few actual R&B singers, who are still putting in work these days. The lines between R&B/Pop/Rap are so blurred they are indistinguishable.

This isn't the best we've heard from Tank - it isn't even as good as "Sex Music" - but its still highly enjoyable if you like real rhythm and blues music.

great song, nothing more to add.

side note: it is said to be prouduced by Song Dynasty, just like some other recent leaks, for example "Keep It 100"

Hard to know what you could possibly complain about here. This is just flat out quality r&b, the likes of which we hear far too little of today. Tank's a man in a sea of little boy singers.

On a side note, in response to Matza, we asked Atlantic to confirm the producer with us and they have yet to do so. As soon as we get the official word that it was produced by Song Dynasty, or anyone else, we'll update.
