Singer and songwriter Tami Chynn released her Universal Records debut, Out of Many…One, in August of ’06. While the album didn’t make much noise in the States, it did get the attention of hit making superstar Akon, who assisted Chynn with a new record deal at Motown/SRC. Since then, the multicultural Chynn has spent time in the studio preparing her untitled sophomore album, featuring the Mr. Konvict-assisted first single, Frozen. Co-produced by Akon and RedOne (from Kat Deluna’s Run The Show), the song is a mixture of pop, r&b and dancehall that showcases Chynn’s radio-friendly voice and overall appeal. A video for Frozen was shot last week and will be released soon.
I have been feeling Tami for awhile now. She can sing. I felt the same way about Rihanna. It took Rihanna awhile before she became a household name. I think this might be the time for Tami to be nationally recognized. This a nice start especially having Akon in the background, although he is no Jay-Z like Rihanna had for her song "umbrella." Nice track right here. Definitetly a strobe light hit.
Wow a lot of Akon stuff lately. Interesting beat, definitely has that Akon feel, attractive singer, but the song is rather uninspired and actually kinda boring. It seems like Akon's beats are a bit too club oriented for this kind of singer.
This song reminds me of the Akon song he did with gwen Stefani! But I like the feel and sound of the track all around. This is the type of track that can appeal to a Worldwide audience. I can definitely put this in Rotation. Never heard of Tami Chynn before; but if all of her music is like this or better; then she has a great shot!
Very commercial but also really catchy! I like it! That's right Akon is everywhere lately and I'm loving it...he's doing such great songs, like Sucker For Love, Rush and others! Isn't it that he's trying to follow Timbo's steps?!
This is the best song featured today on Djbooth (which says almost everything about the others… too much pseudo hot/garbage). I love how they mixed the different styles Z pointed out on the beat, very well done. She can sing and has a nice voice. Akon was good also, I liked when he sings an excerpt of “I wanna fuck you”. I don’t mind the lyrics, this will do very well on the dance floor!
Ok so what do y'all really know about Tami Chynn???!!!! Big-ups to all my reggaeheads!! Looovvvee Tami Chynn...however, this is something very different from her. I know it's 'cuz the song is intended to break out into mainstream BUUUUTT I like her reggae-style songs wwwaaaayyy better. So for a "pop" song coming from her - this is not bad at all.
Mmoore I'm not a hater, I simply have my own tastes. I'm Italian and here we aren't used to listening to classic hip hop...it's obvious that I like more catchy songs, no? In a country where there's only dance music in the clubs (and I don't like it at all), you can't demand me to appreciate everything it is on here. Something is good for me, something less! It's true most of my ratings are 2 stars, I know it's not a high rating, but al least it's ok. I don't consider every song gargabe, I write what I like and the reason why I give a low rating! I prefer giving 3,4 or 5 stars only to the songs which really catch me! That's all peace & love ;)
DIS IS GOT A GOOD BEAT 2 IT................IT MAKES ME BOUNCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAMI CHYNN N AKON, DIS IS 1 COOL TRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is nice, I like it, and I can imagine you know pickin up my girls with this playin in my car before we head out to the club. Hahaha. You know? Anyways, I like it, it's definitely a pop song, but I think it's good for Akon and her both since she didn't receive much acclaim in the states. Anything with Akon on it, at least deserves a listen.
This song is pretty hot. It is good to see that Reggae artist making some moves to cash in on her talent. If you like or dislike this song check out her other music on her CD you might like it.
