As you might guess from her stage name (and the fact that she’s been competing as a battle rapper since the age of 13), South Carolina femcee T.L.M. (The Lyrical Maze) prides herself on her skill as a wordsmith. The Booth newcomer’s lyrical focus, however, doesn’t mean that she’s hatin’ on the club—knowing from personal experience there’s no better way to Get Away from one’s cares than by heading to the local spot, having a few drinks, and stepping out onto the dancefloor, she’s created a new single calibrated to help listeners groove away the stress. Though T.L.M. spends most of the track singing through a certain infamous studio plugin, Autotune-phobics are advised to give this track a chance—over B 4 Reel hypnotically chill deep tissue massage of a beat, the effect sounds unusually fresh, and the femcee’s rapped bars midway through don’t disappoint. With serious lyrical abilities, powerful pipes, and a canny pop sensibility, T.L.M. is clearly a musical force to be reckoned with; for more of this versatile up-and-comer’s many styles, pick up a copy of her Acronyms LP when it hits store shelves and online retailers August 11th.

I love a woman with a nice stomach. (Do I sound like T-Pain?) This can have some pop success. This type of beat is in style right now. Echo soft sounds with pop beats. I like it. I'm not bothered by the Auto Tune here either. This reminds me of the old 96 boys type sound. I like it.

I didn't like the auto-tune in this track... It's not that I don't like it in some tracks, cuz I do, it just didn't stand out for me on this one. I'm interested to hear other tracks from her, cuz the rapped parts weren't bad. The hook was just boring and nothin about it or the melody stood out.
As far as her singin and rappin, she's using AUTOTUNE! Lets not put her up there wit artists like Lauren, Missy and Novel who can ACTUALLY sing AND rap. Not hatin on my man, I'm just sayin... I'll wait to see what else she puts out. |

I think this could of been better but the production is too dull. I can go with autotune here because it isnt overdone and she actually raps.

Wow, I enjoyed this. I didn't even mind the auto-tune that much. I agree that the rapping was the best part, but the overall song was pretty good. The production was nice and kept the song together.

This has a bit of crossover appeal and club play potential. Very very very particular about my female "emcees," but she has the goods to be removed from the "spitting hard like a dude" one trick pony. Lets see whats next after the AT.

Her skills are surely something to respect and admire. The production fits the track and the artist. I'm with Z on this one; this has club potential. Not many female MC's putting out, she gettin it in!
