The past year or so has been quite busy for singer/rapper T-Pain; the Tallahassee native released numerous solo and collaborative Billboard-charting hits, won a Grammy for his work on Kanye West’s Good Life, and started his own label, Nappy Boy Digital. Now, however, Teddy Pain is focusing on his forthcoming album, Thr33 Ringz (Sept 30). Always the life of the party, Pain has mixed some Silver & Gold Patron and serves it up on this newly-leaked song from his recent studio sessions. While Silver & Gold is not an official single from Thr33 Ringz (and might not even be included on the album), it proves that T-Pain still dominates at the art of “bar-hop.” His fans can drink to that!
I really hope this song doesn't catch on and eventually turn into his 1st single. T-Pain can do way better than this, although it's a pretty catchy tune. The overall track is just average and I expect a hell of a lot better for this album.
intros a lil long he went from imma buy you a drink to bartender to imma MAKE a drink silver & gold to me his voice is getting played out but its a good effort it seems like if hes on a track by himself he has nothing else to spit about except alcohol
Man, T-Pain's production is flame. I like this song a lot. This is definitely a solid track. This is one of the better joints I've heard him musically. I would say that the content of it was pretty immature, but aside from that, I liked the production and mix on this.
wow, if this song doesnt even make the album, then that just shows you what kind of material he has in the vault for his own album. The vocoder is back, and T pain aint goin anywhere anytime soon.
it's tight he got a nice song he have to have a rapper on
this like wanye cause his new song me and my drink go hard
that the song they need have on here cause wayne talk all
about dj screw and pimp c on real h-town aready.
I 'm one of those people that think T-Pain is one of the best n the bis. I'mean honestly his beats have a spirit far deeper than the content of the song. Buy you a drank 4 example. One of the greatest beats I ever heard, and the fool talking bout buying a drink for a girl. Shawty was another song that fit that category. This song is not on the level of those 2, but I'm still lovin it!
t-pain's drink songs are getting a bit watered down this song is ok..I give him props tho he's got the whole industry steppin their t-pain up. Chris brown, snoop, 50 cent, lil wayne, kanye, r kelly.. all have hit the t-pain voice............................................................................the voice box thing is gonna all be over if soulja boy does it, i can garuntee you that.
silver and gold is ok its getting a little old that t-pain raps about drinking every song? a little odd i think not but thats not the point i like the idea he needs to remix it with some louisiana some lil wayne, boosie, webbie, and maybe even hurricane chris and we are lookin at a hit
Why can't he sing in a normal way?! I hate the voicebox and I'm extremely tired of it! This song could be a banger to me, but it's only ok, this computerized voice sounds off-key
lol classic t-pain (always talkin about drinking) song not bad i can see this getting played out on the radio in atl. SOMEONE ANSWER THIS FOR ME Y T PAIN WEARIN A DAMN TOP HAT LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Obviously, he's not the only one...but to actually say & sing it, ugh..)
Great way to promote drinking & driving...Im sure those people & families who's lost loved ones sure can appreciate this...
Classless & moronic song. Great role model tpain!
Its not my favorite... why can't T-Pain make his own songs as hot as he makes other artists songs?? He turns regular songs for rappers into bangers!! But his own music is just average... I don't like how he mentioned drinkin and drivin like it was a cool thing.. thats gonna turn this into young kids drinkin and drivin theme song.. trust me I've had a DUI before and it SUCKS!! There is nothin cool about payin $1800 in fines and spendin 3 days in jail.
I think this is a HOT Track! To Patty...T-PAIN ALWAYS USES THE VOICEBOX! It is pretty much the reason everyone else is trying to use it because they see his success. Every T-PAIN will feature him with the voicebox. I like the chorus; the beat is on-point and this is a Certified DJ BLAZE BANGER!
What are you talking about the production being good?! It’s BARTENDER IN A SLOWER VERSION with worse lyrics! The hook is the worst part in a song where the whole melody is uninspired. Imagine if you’d ever sing this accapela, let’s say, in the shower. NEVER! I don’t think the voicebox is what makes him successful, what I give him props for is coming up with good hooks and stuff like that. Voicebox can never make a song without a creative effort and that’s where all these fools trying to follow T-Pain’s steps fail.
A song like this is exactly why T-Pain is so popular right now. His camp has confirmed with me that this song has no intentional place in the mainstream marketplace, so don't expect to hear this one get overplayed on the radio. Just like Wayne, Pain carries HIGH expectations these days. Let's see what he has in store for us in a few months...
i cant hate on this joint right here, but teddy p does need to calm down with the drinkin songs. now...i wouldnt mind gettin drunk off of silver and gold
but dj z: I DID HEAR DIS ON DA RADIO....YESTADAY TO BE EXACT....(note im n atl so maybe thats y)...but naw i dnt like dis dat much...but i cuould listen to it..
Like normal T-Pain has that good catchy sound. But let's be real, this track is nothing compared to what we expect from him. It's probably just a track that Pain is throwing out there. Anyway, this ain't gonna be his first single, and this probably won't even make his album. I won't listen to this song again, but it is OK.
yea i like when you say imma nappy head you can pull my nappy dreads that makes me think of my old man ya kno luvez ya mizz.paler 2010 ya kno don fuc wit it
DjBlaze I know that T-Pain always uses the voicebox, that's why I don't like him! I like him, for example, in Migrate by Mariah Carey, I can stand only small voicebox parts...as this song is completely computerized, to me it's garbage, even though the hook ain't bad. I want REAL music! Maybe the voicebox was fresh at the beginning, but now it is overused and I'm tired of it
This song is pretty chill, Pain's label is gonna get BIG FAST because i think he's gonna give people on the streets and tryin to work there way up the hard way a chance, but this song is REALLY chill after i just heard Pain without the music high, that was fly as h3ll
T-Pain did his thing on this track. If you expect anything but club joints and reckless sex talk from this "voice box genius" then you're kidding yourself. This is a nice chill mode song and it will be in heavy rotation in my car. Looking forward to another good year for T-Pain
ok mravant im not trying to piss you off but if you rated it in motion then y in the hell would you play it a lot i you car unless you only like medeocur music modified by a damn voice box yes his beat and rythm is good but he need new lyrics if anyone agrees please say so
I thought T-Pain actually sings without the voicebox sometimes? Like.. um.. he doesn't sound digital on chucky boy's track, i think it was featured on the Booth. Ill rate later I haven't listened, cant yet. but I agree w Z that Pain has sky high expectations set for him...
Southsideboi that wasn't taken as any disrespect but I gave it "3" for rotation bc thats exactly what it will be doing. It will be in a rotation in my car.
Patron Silver is ma shiiiittt!! This is a good album filler, and a solid effort from Pain. I've always liked T-Pain, but I haven't liked either of his last 2 CD's (as a whole, there's always some bright points). Keep this up!!
its all the same man sing about something different PLEASE... its not even the voicebox that bothersme its the fact that even when hes featured on tracks its still about the sammme thing!!! one was good twice was ok but what is this his 10th song about drinking and booze!!!!
This is one of my favorite artist and i'm highly anticipating the new album T-Pain comes out with most likely it will contain hot tracks hopefully some talented featuring rappers and singers' but I kno it will be a great production
T-Pain is the 2008 version of Nate Dogg!! For real, he can kill a hook and make most rap songs instant fire but he can be lacking on solo joints....like this one. Close. I wanted to like it but if I'm forcing myself to like it, then I need to go with my gut...average at best. Sorry T:(
