T-Pain - Reverse Cowgirl
Artist: T-Pain
Featuring: Young Jeezy
Producer: Kane Beatz (co-prod. T-Pain and JMike)
Album: Revolver
Label: Konvict/Nappy Boy/RCA
I could go into detail explaining why T-Pain chose to title his new single Reverse Cowgirl, but in the interest of avoiding an obscenity charge from the FCC I’ll just have to say it refers to a certain sexual position and leave it at that. Fortunately, or I suppose unfortunately depending on your opinion, Pain isn’t nearly so shy. An auto-tune drenched slow jam in the grand tradition of Buy U a Drank and Bartender, Reverse Cowgirl rides along (pun intended) over slowly swirling production by Kane Beatz that Pain uses to drop some of the so-bad-it’s-good, guilty pleasure verses he’s built his sizable hit making reputation on. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for Young Jeezy, whose guest verse is decent but wouldn’t have been missed. I guess Pain figured if Jeezy’s voice worked on Love in This Club it would work here. Oops. For more karma sutra oriented r&b be sure to cop Pain’s upcoming album Revolver, due out somewhere in the neighborhood of late March/early April.

Someone from Jive or Nappy Boy needs to get me a new promo photo for Teddy - the last one you sent isn't working for me anymore. Moving along...
This should be a hit record... so long as program directors educate their DJs on how to NOT introduce the record haha. And I agree with Nathan in that Jeezy was a waste of audio space. Impressively, though, Kane Beatz continues to knock the ball out the park with his skills behind the board. |

I think Jeezy only comes hard on a song/beat that really brings out the best in him (Amazing, Love in this Club, Go hard, etc.) This is def a miss.

The production is the highlight of this track for me; T-Pain delivers the usual so sometimes I find myself judging how good his songs are based on factors other than his actual verses/singing. I think I yawned and completely missed Jeezy's verse. Not bad otherwise.
Sidebar: Really awkward title. |

I'm glad to hear T-Pain get back to singing and not rapping. Really solid song. I didn't mind Jeezy's verse at all, though I agree with Nathan that it wouldn't really be missed. And the production was pretty tight and went well with Pain. Like Matthew Kyle said though, it is an awkward title haha. 3.5 roundin up.

What the hell? This is a horrible title. I first thought it was a joke but sadly he's being serious. The beat was dope and the only thing great about the song. Autotune is so boring nowadays and Pain just sounds weird singing "put it in reverse cowgirl". Oh yeah, I forgot about Jeezy. Why was he on here again?

I am crazy in love with this song, and the position.;)
Jeezy wasn't terrible, but nothing special. This song won't lose a star over him though. I love the production and rodeo-themed sexual inuendos. This song is the PERFECT lead single, imo, this is a classic. Way better song then I expected. Never judge a song by the title. Oh and for all of the haters out there..."Is auto-tune really dead?" |

The production is Bangin'! This is one of the best T-Pain songs that I've heard since "I'm in love with a stripper"! As everyone else said, Jeezy's verse is alright but Luda would've killed it!

This is wack, not appealing on any level. Yee haw!? really? I like twista's take on reverse cowgirl way better in "girl tonight" or even genuine's "pony", but this is just unenjoyable.
Another beat wasted. |

For me T-Pain is approaching R. Kelly territory in the "I can't believe he made a song about that" department, though he's still got a ways to go before he can touch Kells.
Musically I'm not a huge fan, but it's good for what it is - a fun and entertaining joint that will get people talking. I can't wait to hear radio DJs explain what the title means without getting fined. Good times. |

Wow, this production is off the hook. I'm sure T-pain could put in some time to think of better lyrics for this song.

Interesting choice of words for this song. I like it. I can definetly see this being a smash in clubs. It just goes to show not ALL autotune is dead. Young jeezy's verse was good. Ima give it a 4.

The production on this is (In)credible. T-Pain's melodies are great too. I agree though, the autotune is finally played out . I thought he put it to rest with his "Big A** Chain", but I guess it resurrected from the grave like Thriller extras.

This song wasn't anything special to me. Just an average T-Pain song. I don't have a problem with the autotune but I did have a problem with Jeezy being on this. He doesn't sound good on songs like this.
@jck1388 - Hell yeah, Luda would've tore it up. |

I must be honest, I wasn’t completely feeling the joint when I first heard it, but it has grown on me, a lot... BUT still this isn’t up to T-Pain's usual HIT standards. Not sure whether this will blow up.
I think joint would've been better with spitting from someone with a smoother/clean flow. Kane Beatz's production is so assertively audible, it easily overshadows the actions of Jeezy. [Resume Playing "69"] |

A lot of people are saying that the auto-tune is over but really when t-pain sings, he makes a great job, so, while he sings, auto-tune will continue alive.

I agree with 6ix this song is trash!! Don't even understand how this song became #1. The auto-tune is definately played out, but what's to expect from T-Pain. So with that aside the song is still garbage. If I could negative rate it I would.

after 1,000,000 listens i have come to a verdict. its ku. far far far from my fav T-Pain, but not the worst either. its catchy, kinda creative, but not groundbreaking. it really lacks the natural flow of a song. the verses are not really structured, its jus random singin more or less. the chorus is a bit chorny and i think is the biggest thing holdin the song back. i actually like the title, but the way he uses it in the chorus isnt so great. im still ku listenin to it tho.
