If his last two features didn’t drive the point home, T. Mills is not the kind of man who can be tied down to one woman—even if that woman is a Hollywood starlet or, as on the artist’s latest mixtape standout/potential single selection, a jaw-dropping (if a little stalkerish) beauty. On Can’t Take Ur Eyes Off Me, the Cali phenom administers a reality check to a chick who simply can’t take no for an answer. Over The Futuristics’ chill, downtempo synth production, Mills makes clear that said female’s “fallen off the deep end” if she thinks that calling him constantly, trashing him to everyone she knows, and airing the intimate details of their former sex life is going to win him back. In the process, he showcases a melodic, heavily-articulated delivery reminiscent of a certain rap megastar whose name begins with “D” and ends with a common lawn-care implement. But hey, nothing wrong with taking cues from a heavyweight. Have you fallen in love with Mills’ fresh, pop-appealing style?  Mills is not a hip hop artist, so lets get that out of the way right away. Is it out? Good, now lets move on. In terms of pure ear candy, Mills entire "Leaving Home" album works. However, the best the project has to offer is this record. It has that dreamy production that women love to listen to on repeat, Mills hook vocals are slightly restrained, but show a slight vulnerability, and the end result is extremely pleasing. If this were to get the proper push, it could really hit. But what do I know?!

This song is absolutely amazing, but then again so are all of the songs on every album he's dropped since day one. He is such an inspiration to me and tons of other kids out there. I've supported him since day one and will never stop. YF til I die. Keep up the good work Travis!

This song is one of my favorite Mills tracks. As with a lot of his songs, they're in your face and tell it like it is, and not giving any @*#$!, but at the same time, oddly romantic and sexy. It's refreshing that he writes his own stuff and makes it that much more dope. He's got lyrics for days! This kid's blowing up and I love where he's going. YF.

I love everything Travis makes, but I especially loves that he keeps getting better. His new album is incredible and I was so proud of him and hi music, you can't believe how stoked I was the album was free, I would have paid for it anyway. His show is amazing and I had the pleasure of meeting him and giving him art in person. He is a great guy to his fans. This song is one of my favorites, everyone needs to hear him!

Superstars inevitably produce copycats. These copycats generally fail to even come close to the musical qualities of their example.
That is also the case here, Mills was obviously inspired by Drake but isn't able to compete with "Can't Take Ur Eyes Off Me" due to weak lyrics and a wrather average beat. |
